About me and my therapy practice
I am a qualified counsellor working in Bishop's Stortford, Hertfordshire, and Ongar Essex, delivering counselling services face-to-face or online throughout the UK
People seek counselling to help them deal with the ups and downs of life. Maybe you've found yourself here because you feel stressed, anxious and overwhelmed - or due to an unexpected life event.
Life can throw us curveballs and knock us off guard, and sometimes we need a little help. With experience working with complex issues and challenging situations involving people from diverse backgrounds, I understand how difficult life can be.
One of the areas I work with is adult survivors of childhood trauma, either from addicted parents or childhood abuse from physical, emotional and sexual .
Or the divorce or death of a parent at a young age, the impact has resulted in clients making choices based on a need to feel validated over their actual needs being met.
Help starts with a conversation in a safe and confidential space. I offer an authentic therapeutic relationship where you can be yourself without judgment.

About me and my therapy practice
About Me
Life can get overwhelming, and sometimes it feels like you’re carrying more than you can manage on your own. If you’re feeling anxious, stressed, stuck, or weighed down by things from the past, reaching out for support is a strong and positive step forward.
I offer a warm, understanding, and confidential space where you can talk freely about whatever’s on your mind. I work in a person-centred and humanistic approach, which means the therapy is tailored to you—your experiences, your emotions, and your pace. There’s no pressure, no judgement. Just a genuine space for you to explore what you need.
Who I Work With
I support adults dealing with a wide range of issues, and I have a particular interest in working with adult survivors of childhood trauma, including those who experienced:
parents struggling with alcohol or drug addiction
emotional, physical, or sexual abuse
instability or unpredictability at home
the loss of a parent or a difficult divorce at a young age
long-standing patterns like people-pleasing, self-doubt, or seeking validation
These early experiences can quietly shape how we feel, how we cope, and how we relate to others—even many years later. Together, we can gently unpack those patterns and begin creating healthier, kinder ways of living and relating
Practice description
How I Work
My role isn’t to tell you what to do. Instead, I’m here to walk beside you, offering support and structure as you explore your thoughts and feelings. We can look at both past and present experiences, helping you understand yourself more deeply and move forward in a way that feels right for you.
Whether we work online or in person, the aim is for you to feel safe, understood, and truly heard.
A Little About Me
People often share that it helps to know a bit about their counsellor. I choose to share this when it’s relevant:
I’ve also experienced childhood trauma and challenging early life events, and I understand how those experiences can shape who we become. Counselling made a huge difference in my life and helped me find clarity and confidence. It’s one of the main reasons I’m passionate about helping others find their own way through.
Free Consultation
If you’re unsure where to begin, that’s completely normal. I offer a free consultation so you can get a sense of how I work and whether you feel comfortable talking with me.
