Sessions are 50 minutes and are usually weekly, although I can offer some flexibility around frequency and appointment times to accommodate client needs.

About me and my therapy practice
Just you, me and a cuppa tea. Therapy for professionals with too much on at work and at home. I’ll help you explore your feelings and find a way through what’s going on - no judgement or advice - just a trained listener who’s easy to work with.
Maybe you're the person everyone relies on. You're capable, you get things done and, from the outside, you probably look like you're coping.
But underneath it all, you're just keeping your head above water.
Work follows you home. Your never really switch off. You're juggling life's demands - and there never seems to be enough of you, and your time, to go around.
I'm Louise, a person-centred therapist. I offer a warm, confidential space where you don't have to perform, have the answers, or look after anyone else for a while.
Who I work with
I work with people from a wide range of backgrounds, including entrepreneurs and business owners, people in senior and leadership roles, public-sector professionals and people working in demanding, high stakes, or high-responsibility environments.
What the people I support have in common isn't their job title. It's that a lot is expected of them - by their work, by other people, and often, by themselves.
How I work
I won't tell you what to do or give you a list of techniques to follow. Instead we'll explore what's going on for you, at your pace.
It's a space to talk honestly, without judgement, and begin making sense of what you're experiencing and what you need.
I've spent 20+ years working in the corporate world, so I understand first-hand the pressures that can come with demanding jobs, responsibility, deadlines and trying to balance a career with everything that life can throw at us outside work.
I have also spent 10 years working in mental health and have supported people through organisations including Rape Crisis, Carers associations, the NHS, and Deafblind UK.
I hold a Postgraduate Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy and I'm a Registered Member of the BACP.
Practice description
When you're the one everyone relies on, where do you go when you've had enough?
Maybe work has become relentless. Your diary is full, your inbox never stops and, even when you're technically off work, part of your head is still at work.
The there's everything outside work - relationships, children, ageing parents, finances, health, friendships and all the ordinary responsibilities of life.
Eventually, something has to give.
You might recognise yourself here:
- Work has become all-consuming and you can't switch off,
- You're carrying a lot of responsibility and rarely have anywhere to put your own worries.
- Everyone thinks you're coping, but privately, you're struggling.
- You're successful on paper, but don't feel the way you expected to feel.
- You're overthinking, losing sleep or feeling stressed, anxious, overwhelmed or burnt out.
- You've lost confidence, despite being capable in other areas of your life.
- Pressures are spilling over into you relationship or family life.
- You're balancing a demanding career with parenting, caring responsibilities or other pressures at home.
- You're dealing with workplace conflict, change, redundancy or uncertainty.
- You struggle to set boundaries or say no.
- Perfectionism and high expectations of yourself mean that nothing feels quite good enough.
- You're questioning your career, direction or what you actually want.
- Something outside work - is making an already demanding life harder.
A safe space to park and unpack your stuff
That's the idea behind the Corporate Haven.
For the "therapeutic hour" - you don't have to be the manager, colleague, business owner, partner, parent or problem-solver.
You can simply talk.
I won't tell you what you should do or steer you towards my idea of the right answer.
I'll listen without judgement and help you explore what's happening underneath all the busyness.
Sometimes simply having somewhere to stop, say things out loud and be properly heard can help you begin to understand yourself and your situation differently.
My first session
It's completely normal to feel a little unsure about starting therapy - especially if you've never done it before.
Our first session is a chance for us to meet and get a sense of whether working together feels right for you.
I'll explain a little about how I work, confidentiality and the practical side of therapy, and I'll invite you to tell me what has brought you here.
You don't need to prepare anything and you certainly don't need to tell me your whole life story in the first 50 minutes.
We'll take things at your pace.
You can ask me questions, and towards the end, we'll talk about whether you'd like to arrange another session. There's no pressure to decide immediately.
Occasionally we may realise that a different type of support would be more helpful for you. If this happens, I'll be open with you about it and we can consider the options.
Most importantly, the first session is an opportunity to experience what it's like to talk to me and decide whether you feel comfortable enough for us to work together.

Therapist - Congleton - ONLINE
Features
- Flexible hours available
Availability
I work UK wide, offering online or telephone sessions.
Sessions are usually held weekly, typically at the same time and day, but I am happy to be flexible around frequency and times.
Each session lasts 50 minutes, and the therapy runs according to the individual needs of each client - some are very brief - having only one or two sessions, some have medium-term therapy - 6-10 weeks, or some clients work over the longer term.
About me and my therapy practice
Just you, me and a cuppa tea: Therapy for stressed professionals with too much on at work and at home.
Maybe you're the person everyone relies on. You're capable, you get things done, and from the outside, you probably look like you're coping. But underneath it all, perhaps you are just keeping your head above water. Work follows you home, your head never really switches off, and there never seems to be enough of you to go around and deal with the things you're going through.
Perhaps you're feeling stressed, anxious or overwhelmed. Maybe you've lost confidence, questioning what you're doing with your life, or you're simply tired of holding everything together.
I'm Louise, a person-centred therapist. I offer a warm, confidential space where you don't have to perform, have the answers, or look after everyone else for a while.
I won't tell you what to do or give you a list of techniques to follow. Instead, we'll explore what's going on for you, at your pace, so you can begin to understand what you're feeling and find your own way forward.
I've spent over 20 years working in the corporate world, so I understand first-hand the pressures that come with demanding jobs, responsibility, deadlines and trying to balance a career with everything happening outside work.
I've also spent many years supporting people through mental health and voluntary organisations, including Manchester Rape Crisis, Trafford Carers, the NHS and Deafblind UK.
I hold a Postgraduate Diploma in Counselling and Pyschotherapy from the University of Salford and I'm a registered member of the BACP.
If you're wondering whether therapy might help, you're welcome to get in touch. We can have an initial conversation and see how it feels.

If you're the one everyone relies on, where do you go when you've had enough?
Maybe work has become relentless. Your diary is full, your inbox never seems to stop and even when you're technically off work, part of your head is still there.
Then there's everything outside work - relationships, children, ageing parents, finances, health, friendships and all the responsibilities, and ups and downs of life - where it can be hard to even pause for breath.
Eventually, something has to give.
You might find yourself becoming irritable or emotional over things that wouldn't normally bother you. Perhaps you're struggling to sleep, constantly overthinking, losing confidence or wondering why you can't cope with things that you used to manage.
Maybe something dramatic or traumatic has happened. Maybe nothing out of the ordinary has happened at all. You just know something needs to change.
A safe space to park and unpack your stuff
That's the idea behind The Corporate Haven.
Therapy gives you somewhere that's yours. In that time, you don't have to be the leader, the partner, parent, problem-solver or person who has everything under control.
You can simply talk.
As a person centred therapist, I won't tell you what you should do or try to steer you towards my idea of the right answer. I'll listen, without judgement, and help you explore what's happening underneath all the busyness.
That might mean talking about work - or it might equally lead us into relationships, family, confidence, loss, identity, anxiety, depression or questions about what you actually want from your life.
There's no programme to complete and no expectation that you arrive knowing exactly what you want to talk about.
Sometimes having somewhere to stop, say things out loud, and be properly heard can help you begin to see things differently.
I work online with adults throughout the UK, offering both short and longer-term therapy.
