About me and my therapy practice

A Trauma-Informed Approach

Central to my counselling philosophy is a trauma-informed framework that prioritises safety, trust, and collaboration. I strive to create an environment where survivors feel empowered to share their stories at their own pace, without fear of judgment or re-traumatisation. This involves:

• Ensuring physical and emotional safety in every interaction

• Practicing transparency and clear boundaries

• Valuing client autonomy and informed consent

• Recognizing and validating the impact of trauma

• Encouraging self-compassion and resilience

By honouring the survivor’s experience and expertise in their own lives, my role is to facilitate a collaborative therapeutic relationship—one built on mutual respect and deep listening

My commitment is to meet each individual with unconditional regard, affirming their strengths, autonomy, and right to be heard.

Practice description

My commitment to ongoing professional growth is reflected in my further clinical development and experience in areas such as grounding techniques, Polyvagal therapy, trauma-specific interventions, emotional-limited art therapy, inner child work, re-parenting, and supporting those with Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID) and neurodiversities. I believe in integrating creative and strength-based approaches to therapy, empowering survivors to reconnect with their inherent resilience and inner resources.

By weaving together evidence-based modalities, lived expertise, and a foundation of compassion, my practice aims to offer survivors a safe, responsive, and affirming space where hope and healing can take root.

Creating a Safe Therapeutic Space

The counselling space I offer is grounded in warmth, authenticity, and attentive presence. I pay close attention to the physical environment—lighting, seating, privacy—understanding that even subtle details can influence a survivor’s sense of comfort and trust. I invite feedback and adapt my approach to best support each client’s needs and preferences.

Confidentiality is foundational, as is transparency around reporting requirements and client rights. I work to empower survivors in making informed choices about their healing process, supporting them in setting goals and pacing their journey.
