About me and my therapy practice

I am a fully qualified and experienced person-centred and experiential counsellor and psychotherapist working with adults (18+). I have worked with clients from different backgrounds and with a wide range of issues and experiences.

Whatever has brought you here, I aim to offer an accepting, confidential space where you can be yourself and explore change at a pace that feels safe and right for you. You are the expert on your own life, and my role is to help you make sense of the things you feel, the stories you carry, and the obstacles you may face.

I believe the therapeutic relationship is at the heart of healing and change, and I hold respect, empathy, and authenticity at the centre of my work. I am a real person in the room with you, and I bring myself to that space, with honesty, warmth, and sometimes humour when the moment calls for it. Above all, I want you to feel genuinely seen and heard.

I believe that who we are and the world we live in shape our inner lives in ways that really matter, and I hold that awareness in my work. I actively work towards cultural attunement, staying curious and open to each person's background, identity, and experience. I am committed to anti-oppressive, anti-racist, and anti-ableist practice, and I am LGBTQIA+ affirming.

Practice description

I have specialised in working with neurodivergent people and those with neurological conditions for over 15 years, across higher education, the Arts, and counselling and psychotherapy. My professional experience and my own lived experience have taught me that every person is unique and deserves a genuinely personalised approach.

I am a trauma-informed and neuro-affirmative practitioner, and I work at a pace and depth that feels right for you. I will always do my best to accommodate any sensory or access needs that may affect how you engage with therapy.

I also work creatively and with the body, drawing on practices such as therapeutic writing, drawing, working with objects, mindfulness, and felt sense. These are always offered as possibilities, never expectations, and the choice is always yours.

I work face-to-face in a therapy room in central Liverpool, and I also offer online sessions via Google Meets, Zoom, or MS Teams.

I hold an MA in Counselling and Psychotherapy Practice with Distinction (Level 7). To learn more about my practice and experience, please visit my website.

Fees

I offer a free, no-obligation 20 to 30-minute phone or online consultation.

If we decide to work together, sessions are £60.00 for 50 minutes.

I have a small number of concessionary spaces for those who are struggling financially, considered on a case-by-case basis.

For organisations, please get in touch to discuss group work rates.

My first session

I offer a free, no-obligation consultation of around 20 to 30 minutes by phone or online. This is a chance for us to meet, for you to share a little about what has brought you here, and to ask anything you would like to know about how I work. Finding the right fit is important, and I would encourage you to take whatever time you need to decide.

If we decide to move forward, I call the next session an initial session rather than a first session, because I see it as another opportunity to explore whether working together feels right for you.

The initial session is an open space to begin exploring what has brought you to therapy, at your own pace. It is completely normal to feel uncertain, or to need a little time to find your feet. Whatever you bring and however you show up, is welcome.
