Sessions take place at The Acorn Room, which is a bright, safe and welcoming space that is neuro affirming and neuro inclusive. Whilst typical counselling spaces have just two chairs, The Acorn Room is set up to allow people to be who they are and feel 'just right' in the space. This means that whilst we have regular seating, we also have swing chairs, bean bags and balance balls, all set to muted gentle tones. The aim is to ensure that The Acorn Room is inclusive to all people who need time to reflect, process and move forward in their lives.
About me and my therapy practice
Finding a space that feels safe and comfortable to begin to talk about things causing you hurt or distress can be difficult.
I offer safety, sensitivity and trust along with a collaborative approach to enable you to start to talk about and process the things troubling you. By working together, we can start to understand your thoughts and feelings and the personal meanings attached to them.
Through the building of a trusting, non-judgemental and compassionate relationship you can find a way of learning about who you are, building confidence, self esteem and an understanding of your wants and needs both of yourself and of others.
I have worked with adults, children, young people and families for over 20 years. It is always a privilege to be a part of someone’s life for as short or as long as needed.
I am very experienced working with families and parents and the challenges that parenting can bring. I have experience of working with adopted children and both adults and children who are or feel that they may be neurodivergent and the difficulties that can arise from navigating this complex world.
I offer a flexible approach, that can combine counselling, coaching and fun therapeutic activities or any combination of the above.
