About me and my therapy practice

Making the decision to reach out for help is a brave act, and in my eyes shows how strong you are. I know it's not an easy task to start therapy, so I always strive to create a warm, non-judgemental, and comforting environment with my clients from beginning to end.

I specialize in anxiety, phobias, depression, low self-esteem and behavioural issues. I also have a special interest in ADD/ADHD and helping ADHDer's challenge their constantly busy minds. I work with a lot of different issues too, so please reach out and we can have a chat to see if we're a good fit.

As someone who has ADHD, I have naturally gravitated my interest and my practice into learning and teaching more around how to live more fully and presently as an ADHDer in a world that was not built for the ADHD brain. Commonly through life experiences, people with ADHD can have beliefs about one's self and their abilities that continue to get in the way of who they truly are. I know because I have lived it. Through self-discovery and the work done in therapy, one can grow new habits and views of themselves, which are more in alignment with who you want to be.

The foundation of my work is Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) with a person-centred approach, but I also pull upon other modalities like Mindfulness-based therapy and Compassion Focused Therapy. I believe in collaboration in the therapeutic journey, as no body knows you better than YOU. I have also trained as a reiki and breath work practitioner, which I would only use with consent or if there was interest from the client. I believe in the mind-body connection and the importance it plays in the path to wellness.

I am originally from Canada but now call the UK my home. When I'm not doing counsellor related things, I enjoy dabbling in the arts by making things like jewellery, crochet, photography or dancing.

Practice description
