I offer counselling in person in Bushey, as well as online and by telephone. Appointments are available during the daytime, with a limited number of early-evening sessions.

You are welcome to arrange a complimentary 10-minute introductory call through my website. This gives you an opportunity to tell me briefly what has brought you to therapy, ask any questions and get a sense of whether I may be the right therapist for you
About me and my therapy practice
How I work
If you're reading this late at night, unable to switch off, replaying the day or dreading the one ahead, you're not alone. Many people come to me at the point where things have felt heavy for a while, where the tiredness isn't just physical, and the quiet of the evening is when everything you've been holding in all day finally catches up with you.
My approach is psychodynamic and relational. This means we explore what is happening in your life now, while also considering how earlier experiences and relationships may be influencing how you feel about yourself and relate to others today. Often, the things that keep you up at night aren't really about what happened that day ... they're older patterns, resurfacing.
I offer a warm, compassionate space where you can speak openly without needing to have everything figured out. You don't need to arrive with the right words, or even a clear sense of what's wrong just a sense that something isn't quite right is enough. I will listen carefully, help you put difficult feelings into words, and gently draw attention to patterns that may be hard to recognise on your own.
I will not tell you what to do or push you to talk about anything before you feel ready. Instead, we will work together at a pace that feels manageable, helping you develop a deeper understanding of yourself and greater confidence in your own feelings and choices so those late nights start to feel a little less alone, and a little less heavy.
Practice description
My practice
I work from a comfortable, private annex at my home in Bushey. The therapy room has its own entrance and toilet facilities and is completely separate from the main house. It is a calm, cosy space, with free and easy parking available outside.
When you arrive, simply knock on the door at your appointment time and I will welcome you in. You may hear my dog bark — he is a very reliable doorbell — but he will not be in the therapy room unless we have discussed this beforehand.
Sessions last 50 minutes and usually take place at the same time each week, which helps build the sense of stability and containment that makes this work possible. I also offer online and telephone counselling, if you would prefer to attend remotely, or hybrid when things get busy.
Many people arrive feeling nervous, unsure where to begin, or worried that what they're experiencing isn't serious enough for therapy. If you've been sitting with this for a while, wondering whether now is the right time, it is. You do not need to have everything worked out or know exactly what to say we can begin wherever you are, and take things at a pace that feels comfortable for you.
My first session
Your First Session
Starting therapy can feel like a big step. Many people arrive at their first session feeling nervous, unsure where to begin or worried that they will not know what to say.
You may appear to be coping with work, relationships and everyday responsibilities, while privately feeling anxious, overwhelmed or no longer quite like yourself. You may recognise that the same difficulties keep returning without understanding why, or wonder whether what you are experiencing is “serious enough” for therapy.
You do not need to be in crisis, have everything worked out or find the right words before you come. We can begin wherever you are. You do not need to arrive with everything worked out. We can begin with whatever feels most important to you or simply with how things have been feeling lately. Some people prefer to talk freely, while others find it helpful for me to gently ask questions at first. There is no pressure to share everything straight away. We will take our time and go at a pace that feels comfortable for you.
In our first session you're welcome to ask me questions too, and together we can consider whether continuing to work with each other feels right.

About me and my therapy practice
It’s not always easy to reach out for support, especially when you’ve spent so long appearing to cope on the outside. If you’re starting to feel disconnected from yourself, feeling stuck in familiar patterns, or quietly questioning what’s next, I warmly invite you to get in touch. Finding the right therapist can make all the difference, and I’d be happy to share more about how I work and how I might support you.
I work with adults navigating life transitions, relationship difficulties, and the emotional impact of loss or change. Many of the people I work with are beginning to realise that something needs to shift, whether that’s feeling overwhelmed, repeating relationship patterns, struggling with boundaries, or feeling unsure of themselves. Often clients come to therapy feeling unheard, unseen, or carrying the effects of a critical or intrusive parent, unprocessed grief, or years of putting their own needs last.
Therapy with me offers a calm, compassionate space to explore your inner world, without pressure to have everything figured out. I bring warmth, curiosity, and respect to the process, supporting you to make sense of your experiences, understand how your past may be shaping your present, and reconnect with who you are beyond the expectations of others.
Practice description
My practice is a calm, private space where you can slow down, reflect, and begin to make sense of what’s going on beneath the surface. You don’t need to perform or apologise for your feelings here.
Many of the people I work with describe feeling stuck in patterns that no longer serve them, repeating relationship dynamics, staying in relationships that aren’t working, constantly questioning themselves, or feeling like they should be happy but aren’t. We often explore how early experiences, family dynamics, and attachment patterns continue to shape how they relate to others and to themselves.
Whether you’re feeling lost, numb, overwhelmed, navigating grief, or unsure why you’re struggling, our work together will help you develop a deeper understanding of yourself, strengthen your sense of self, and create space for meaningful change.
Clients I work with
• Individuals exploring therapy for the first time
• People navigating relationship difficulties, boundaries, or uncertainty
• Clients experiencing major life transitions or identity shifts such as becoming a parent, marriage, separation, or loss
My first session
Our first session is a chance for us to get to know one another. We’ll explore what’s brought you to therapy and what you’re hoping for, whether that’s feeling stuck despite coping on the outside, struggling in relationships, or trying to make sense of a life transition. There’s no pressure to share everything right away,we’ll go at your pace.
It’s also an opportunity for you to ask questions and notice how you feel in the space. Therapy works best when there’s a sense of connection and trust, so this first meeting is about exploring whether we’re the right fit.
I often work with adults who appear to be managing on the outside but feel overwhelmed, disconnected, or unsure of themselves inside. Many are thoughtful and self-aware, yet find themselves repeating relationship patterns, struggling with boundaries, or quietly questioning their direction in life.
