About me and my therapy practice
My approach is Person-Centred and Pluralistic. I am comfortable discussing sensitive subjects explicitly. I specialise in working therapeutically with eating disorders, baby loss, miscarriage and rainbow babies. I work with couples and individuals. I offer my clients a bespoke therapy experience.
I didn't come to this work as someone who had it all figured out. I came because I've lived through the messy, complicated parts of being human. I've experienced love and heartache, grief and remorse, pleasure and body shame.
Practice description
Do others view you as a calm river with a constant, steady flow? Does this stop you from telling them about the disarming undercurrent that pulls you in all directions? Perhaps you feel like you need to maintain the outward appearance of being someone who ‘has it all’ when inwardly you are scared that you aren’t enough. Appearing perfect can be exhausting, it can also be isolating and erode our true sense of self. I am here so that you can rest your mask down for a while. By tapping into and meeting the needs of your inner self you will find that you feel resourced enough to fortify your relationships with others. What I can help with

About me and my therapy practice
Struggling with an aspect of your life can feel isolating. I am here so that you need not feel alone. Revealing your inner most thoughts, fears and feelings can be daunting and that is why I offer a calm, secure and non-judgemental space.
As a Person Centred Therapist I am led by you; I work at the pace you set, use challenge where appropriate and hold your personal growth and well-being at the heart of my practise. I work on the belief that you have the answers within yourself, I am here to help you uncover them.
I believe that in a held environment you will be able to explore and move through your current difficulties. I know that this is possible as I have overcome issues that felt insurmountable by exploring them with a counsellor who was 'the right fit' for me. I am what is known in the counselling community as a 'wounded healer.'
You have already shown great courage and a desire to change your current circumstances by reading my profile; if you feel that I could be the 'right fit' for you then please get in touch.
Practice description
I am a Person Centred counsellor with a Pluralistic perspective; this to me means that I work collaboratively with clients. I hope to have an open line of communication with my clients in which they feel secure in telling me how they would like their therapy to take shape.
My first session
During the initial session I go through the counselling agreement with the client. This is a working document that can be amended together if desired so that both parties voices are reflected in its pages.
The client has the opportunity to complete the Norcross Inventory of Preferences. This is not an assessment but a way of starting a conversation about the clients goals and preferences for therapy.
Where possible I recommend initial sessions to be 90 minutes, this gives time for the client to get a sense of how I work and to gauge whether I am the right therapist for them.
