About me and my therapy practice

Hello. Thank you for your interest in working with me. I am a Clinic Director at The Grove Practice in London, a UKCP accredited Psychotherapist and BACP member, Lecturer/Trainer, Couples Therapist, Supervisor, and Leadership Coach.

I specialise in trauma therapy and working holistically with men. I have 10+ years of experience garnered through clinical work in private practice as well as various other sectors, including the NHS and the Charity sector. I have a particular clinical interest in working with men in middle age and developing psychological approaches to optimise living for those with chronic health issues.

I have been a Clinic Director at The Grove, a leading educational organisation for mental health practitioners, and part of the senior leadership and clinical team since 2016.

I am a Certified Complex Trauma Professional and a senior Faculty Member on The Grove’s Post Graduate teaching programmes; training and Supervising other therapists.

My main therapeutic approach stems from my Transpersonal Integrative training at the Centre for Counselling and Psychotherapy Education (CCPE) in London. My core training, rooted in Eastern philosophy, encompasses traditional therapies and modalities, as well as guided meditation, visualization, and body-focused healing practices such as breathwork, sound, and movement.

I serve as an Executive and Leadership Coach and organisational consultant, supporting senior leaders and executive teams in achieving their career and organisational objectives.

I operate from multiple locations in London, including W1, W9, NW3 & NW11 for nature-based walking sessions, and offers sessions via Zoom.

To book an appointment with me, please contact me via email at robert@thegrovepractice.com.

Practice description

I take a sensitive, creative, sometimes challenging and curious approach to therapy practice, which has resonated with clients seeking a calming and reassuringly assertive and patient therapeutic experience, away from often intense organisational environments. I have a mostly professional clientele of entrepreneurs, founders and those in senior leadership positions in large organisations.

With a strong focus on trauma therapy, I have extensive experience working with clients dealing with the after affects of various difficult experiences, working with these issues in both a couples and individual setting.

I thoroughly enjoy teaching and supervising therapists, drawing from clinical work and a life long passion for self-development and learning.

I have a passion for body-based trauma healing work and host a retreat for therapists looking to deepen their experience of embodied work at The Grove.

Beyond trauma therapy, I use other evidence-based approaches like Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).

I work with depression, anxiety, self-esteem, addiction, relationship problems, trauma & PTSD, as well as psychosexual issues.

My first session

My first session is usually a download from you, with some questions from me about what you would like from therapy and I will share more about how I work. We can then decide together if we are a good fit. Following an assessment, I usually offer a block of 12 sessions for individuals and 6 sessions for couples, followed by review.

Please email me if you would like a short call prior to arranging a first session.
