About me and my therapy practice

Many of us develop ways of coping that once helped us survive, but now leave us feeling stuck, disconnected, or caught in patterns that seem to repeat despite our best efforts. Therapy offers a space not only to understand those patterns, but to experience yourself differently.

My approach is grounded in the belief that lasting change happens through the therapeutic relationship. Whilst I draw on a range of approaches, including person-centred, psychodynamic and Internal Family Systems (IFS), I don't believe healing comes from techniques alone. Instead, I see therapy as a collaborative relationship where we become curious together about your experiences, emotions, relationships and the ways you've learned to protect yourself.

I aim to create a space where every part of you is welcome, including those that feel ashamed, frightened, angry or difficult to understand. Many of the people I work with are thoughtful and insightful. They often have a good understanding of why they struggle, yet find that insight alone hasn't brought the change they long for.

Rather than simply managing symptoms, we will explore the deeper emotional and relational patterns that shape how you experience yourself and others. My hope is that, over time, therapy becomes a place where you feel increasingly able to meet yourself with compassion, develop a more secure relationship with yourself, and move through life with greater freedom and authenticity.

Practice description

I offer both online and face-to-face sessions. My consulting room is in Birmingham's Jewellery Quarter, within walking distance of the tram line and Jewellery Quarter stations. The room is quiet, comfortable and intentionally designed to feel calm and private.

My first session

I offer a free 30-minute introductory video call. This gives us an opportunity to talk about what has brought you to therapy, what you're hoping for, and any questions you may have about how I work. Equally importantly, it allows us both to get a sense of whether we feel comfortable working together.
