Availability
I currently have availability for new clients and offer sessions both in-person and online. My working hours are flexible and include daytime and evening appointments where available.
As a private practice, I aim to respond to enquiries within 1–2 working days. If I am away from the practice for any period of time, an out-of-office message will be in place advising when I will return and when you can expect a response.
If you are interested in working together, please feel free to get in touch to discuss availability and arrange an initial consultation.
About me and my therapy practice
I work from a compassionate, collaborative, and client-centred perspective, recognising that every person's experiences, challenges, and goals are unique. My role is not to tell you what to do or provide quick solutions, but to work alongside you in understanding your difficulties and identifying meaningful ways forward.
I take an integrative approach to therapy, drawing on a range of evidence-based models including person-centred therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), compassion-focused approaches, and attachment-informed work. This allows me to tailor therapy to your individual needs rather than applying a single approach to everyone.
In our sessions, we may explore how your current thoughts, emotions, behaviours, and coping strategies have developed over time. Together, we can examine patterns that may once have served a protective purpose but are now contributing to distress or preventing you from living the life you want. Through this process, we can develop greater self-awareness, self-compassion, and more adaptive ways of coping.
I have a particular interest in recovery-focused work, including eating disorders, addictions, self-harm, and difficulties relating to emotional regulation. Alongside exploring underlying experiences and emotional needs, I can also incorporate practical strategies and therapeutic exercises where appropriate to support change between sessions.
I believe that the therapeutic relationship itself is one of the most important factors in successful therapy. As such, I strive to create an environment where you feel safe, respected, and understood. I aim to work with openness, authenticity, and curiosity, helping you develop a stronger understanding of yourself, greater emotional resilience, and increased confidence in navigating life's challenges.
Whether you are seeking support for a specific difficulty or looking to better understand yourself, therapy can provide a space for reflection, growth, and lasting change.
Practice description
My practice is centred on providing a warm, compassionate, and non-judgemental space where you can explore difficulties at your own pace. I believe that meaningful change begins with understanding, and therapy offers an opportunity to make sense of patterns of thinking, feeling, and behaving that may no longer be serving you.
I hold both a BSc and MSc in Counselling and Psychotherapy and am an accredited member of the BACP. Since establishing my practice in 2021, I have worked with clients experiencing a wide range of emotional and psychological challenges, with particular experience in recovery-focused work including eating disorders, addictions, self-harm, anxiety, low self-esteem, and difficulties with emotional regulation.
My approach is integrative, meaning I draw upon a range of evidence-based therapeutic models and tailor therapy to the individual rather than adopting a one-size-fits-all approach. Depending on your needs, this may include person-centred therapy, cognitive behavioural approaches, compassion-focused interventions, and attachment-informed work.
At the heart of my practice is the belief that compassion is a powerful catalyst for change. Together, we can explore how past experiences, relationships, and coping strategies may have shaped your current difficulties, while developing healthier ways of responding to emotional distress and life's challenges.
I aim to create a therapeutic relationship built on authenticity, acceptance, and collaboration. Therapy is not about being fixed or judged; it is about developing greater self-understanding, emotional resilience, and confidence in navigating life. My role is to provide a secure and supportive environment where you can feel heard, understood, and empowered to move towards the changes that matter most to you.
My first session
I offer a free initial assessment lasting approximately 45–60 minutes. This session provides an opportunity for us to get to know one another, discuss what has brought you to therapy, and explore what you would like to gain from the process.
The assessment is also a chance for you to ask any questions you may have about counselling and how I work. Together, we can consider whether I am the right therapist for you and whether the support I offer meets your needs. There is no obligation to continue therapy following this session.
At Garden Room Therapy, we understand that taking the first step into counselling can feel daunting and sometimes overwhelming. We aim to make this process as comfortable and straightforward as possible. No payment is required upfront for the assessment, and you remain in control throughout. Therapy is collaborative and personalised to your individual needs, goals, and circumstances.
If we decide to work together, we can discuss a suitable approach and arrange ongoing sessions at a pace that feels right for you. I look forward to hearing from you and supporting you on your therapeutic journey.
