About me and my therapy practice
Hello, I'm Gillian.
Sometimes it can feel very hard to see a way forward to living with less anxiety or depression, or understanding why we feel stuck, or blocked, or unable to make changes or feel better. I will provide a safe and confidential space in which we can think together about ingrained mental obstacles and how they are affecting you.
MSc. Psychodynamic Counselling and Psychotherapy
Psychodynamic work helps us to understand how our past experiences and unconscious processes are alive and present in how we are currently feeling and experiencing ourselves and our actions, impulses and relationships.
Working in this way together brings insight into unravelling the strands of root causes, and brings space for increased understanding of the self, self-esteem, kindness to the self and resilience to step forward into life.
Every client is a unique individual and I will listen with empathy and curiosity as we think together and work towards understanding and insight.

After an initial phone call, which is free of charge, we can arrange to commence sessions. These will take place face to face on a weekly basis. This is usually for one year, although shorter term work may be discussed in the initial phone call and take place by mutual agreement. The sessions will be in the same time-slot every week and will last for 50 minutes.
