About me and my therapy practice

Welcome to Bluebird Wellbeing.  I offer a combination of Coaching and Counselling both face to face and online.  My background in Nursing and Chronic Conditions management opens me to work with people experiencing complex physical health changes as well as people who are experiencing stress, anxiety and depression.  I use a person centered, strength based, outcome focused approach. My aim is to provide a compassionate safe space for you to be able to access the confidence you need to be able to speak your story, feel heard and orientate towards the future to want to live.

I started my career working with older adults in residential accommodation, before training as a Nurse in London and going on to work in A&E, Minor Injuries, and Chronic Conditions Management. Whilst working in the NHS I trained to become a coach, gaining my ILM 5 in 2017.

As part of my role I delivered Acceptance and Commitment Therapy sessions to the general public, which opened my interest in mindfulness and meditation (still a work in progress).

My passion for promoting Wellbeing led me to working with a Domestic Violence project and enrolling on a Foundation Degree Course in Counselling with Colleg Sir Gar, from which I graduated in 2023.

I am now working with a Carers Support Charity, offering one-to-one support, group support and training.  As well as offering Counselling and Coaching to private clients in the Counselling Cabin, on the phone or on-line.

Practice description

My work is conversation based.  You are welcome to ring or email me to have a chat and see if you would like to engage in an open conversation about what matters to you.

After an initial chat you may like to book a session with me.  This could be on the phone, via zoom, in the Cabin.  Or, in specific circumstances, a home visit.  Home visits can be arranged within a 20 mile radius of SY20 8DD and are reserved for Carers or People who are too poorly to leave the house.  In these cases mileage and time would have to be added to the cost of therapy.

Each session is 50 minutes.  We will start buy talking about what you and I expect from the session, this is called contracting.  We will then start to look at where you would like the session to go and discuss how you would like to get there.  At the end of the session we will spend a few moments reflecting on the conversational journey and, if you would like to, you can book to have another session.
