About me and my therapy practice
Many of the men I work with are doing well on the outside. They manage careers and responsibilities while carrying anxiety, overwhelm or a sense of disconnection that doesn't show. Most have inherited a narrow idea of what a man is meant to be and have spent years living up to it.
I offer a calm and creative space to explore your challenges without judgement or shame. As an Integrative Transpersonal Counsellor, I draw on a range of approaches and make room for the emotional, relational and spiritual sides of experience. That can include questions of identity, purpose and belonging. Therapy can be a place to slow down and understand patterns that no longer feel sustainable.
I qualified as a counsellor in 2023 and work in line with the BACP Ethical Framework. My approach draws on more than one model, rather than fitting you to a single method. I make space for meaning and purpose alongside the practical difficulties you bring.
Practice description
Our work together is a conversation. I'll meet you where you are and we'll find a pace that suits you. Some men will arrive with a specific difficulty to untangle. Others come knowing only that something needs to change. Both are a good place to begin.
Much of what we do is less about fixing a problem and more about the kind of man you're growing into: How you meet difficulty and what you allow yourself to feel. Art and Creativity can form a supportive part of this. We may explore metaphor, dreams, visual materials or simple art based reflections as ways into inner experience and meaning. These approaches are always optional, used in service of insight.
You can expect a calm, steady presence and a space without judgement where you can speak openly and often about things you've not said before. I work with men individually, online.
My first session
Our first session is a chance to talk about what has brought you to therapy and what you're hoping for from it. There's no pressure to have it all worked out or to tell your whole story at once. It's also a chance to get a feel for how I work and whether it feels right for you. If you'd like to go ahead, we'll agree how often to meet and take it from there. The first session is charged at my standard session fee.
