About me and my therapy practice

Hello, thank you for taking the time to have a look at my profile. At the heart of my work is the belief that each person has an innate capacity for growth, healing, and self-understanding when they are met with genuine acceptance and empathy. My role as a counsellor is not to direct or advise but to be alongside my clients as they explore their thoughts and feelings in a safe and compassionate relationship. I aim to offer a space where clients feel deeply seen, heard, and understood—perhaps in a way they have not experienced before.

My practice begins with the therapeutic relationship. I pay close attention to the pace, emotional tone, and relational needs of each person I work with. I try to meet them where they are, understanding that simply being received without judgement can be profoundly regulating and healing. I stay present, curious and attuned, trusting that meaningful change comes through connection rather than technique.

While I draw on other approaches and theories, these are integrated gently and only where they support the client’s own process. I do not push for insight or emotional expression; instead, I follow the client’s lead, believing that their inner world unfolds most safely and authentically when they feel empowered and in control.

With children and young people, I often work through playfulness, metaphor and creativity, which allows expression to arise naturally rather than being forced into words. With adults, I offer reflective dialogue and emotional exploration that honours their pace and lived experience.

Practice description

In practice, I offer a calm, contained, and relational therapeutic space where clients can feel safe enough to explore their inner world. Sessions last 45–50 minutes and are held weekly where possible, allowing a sense of continuity, emotional safety, and gradual trust-building. When working with children, I provide a structured yet flexible environment with access to creative materials and play resources. Children are encouraged to choose how they work, and I follow their pace while maintaining clear boundaries that help them feel secure.

I aim for my practice to be inclusive and culturally sensitive. I recognise the impact of wider systems, discrimination, neurodiversity, and social pressures on mental health, and I hold space for these experiences with respect and curiosity. My commitment is to meet clients where they are, to support their strengths, and to provide a relationship that fosters safety, empowerment, and emotional growth.

My first session

I offer a free 20 minute phone consultation in the first instance of an enquiry, at a mutually agreeable time, so you can decide if you would like to work with me and if I can help you with your needs. We can discuss your aims for therapy, and I can answer any questions you may have. I believe in the power of the therapeutic relationship, so finding the right counsellor is key.

I am based in Bexleyheath and Dartford and can also be flexible in accommodating online sessions.

I can offer sessions face-to-face or online or a combination of the two to suit you.

Sessions can be long or short term. I usually recommend at least six to allow a chance for the therapeutic work to begin. However, I will always be led by you. I will do regular reviews to ensure you feel I am working effectively with you.
