Availability
Currently, I have availability for online sessions. I offer both daytime and evening appointments throughout the week.
Session times:
Monday – Friday: 9:00am – 8:00pm
Evening sessions are available.
I respond to messages and enquiries between sessions, and I aim to reply within 24–48 hours (Monday to Friday). If you contact me outside these hours, I will get back to you as soon as I am able.
Therapy sessions take place weekly or fortnightly, depending on what feels right for you. We can discuss your preferred time during our initial conversation. I offer secure video or telephone sessions.
I occasionally take planned time away from practice for training and annual leave. Any breaks will always be communicated in advance wherever possible, and we will explore how to support continuity around those dates.
I do not offer crisis or emergency support. If you need immediate help, I can provide details of local and national services.
About me and my therapy practice
Calm, supportive therapy when you’re overwhelmed inside.
Maybe your mind rarely switches off. You overthink conversations, worry about what other people think, put pressure on yourself to get things right, or find yourself constantly trying to keep everyone else happy. From the outside, you might seem like you’re coping well, while inside you feel anxious, overwhelmed, exhausted or simply not good enough.
You may know that something needs to change but not know where to start. Or perhaps you’ve spent so long pushing through and putting other people first that you’re not even sure what you need anymore.
I offer a warm, calm space where you don’t have to pretend everything is fine. You don’t need to arrive knowing exactly what to say or what you want from therapy. We can start wherever you are.
I’m a Person-Centred Experiential Counsellor and Psychotherapist, and my approach is gentle, collaborative and trauma-informed. I won’t tell you what you should do or rush you towards a solution. Instead, we’ll explore what’s happening beneath the anxiety, self-criticism or overwhelm and begin to understand the experiences and patterns that may be keeping you feeling stuck.
My work has a particular focus on anxiety, low self-worth, body image, stress and burnout. I also have experience supporting people with neurodivergence, difficult past experiences and trauma, relationship difficulties and low mood.
Alongside my private practice, I currently work as a counsellor with Hull and East Yorkshire Mind, supporting both young people and adults with a range of emotional and mental health difficulties.
Therapy can help you understand yourself with more compassion, recognise what you need and begin to feel more confident in yourself and the choices you make.
Sessions are online, giving you the flexibility to access therapy from a space where you feel comfortable.
Practice description
Starting therapy can feel daunting, especially if you’re used to dealing with things on your own, or you’re unsure what you would even say in a session. You don’t need to prepare anything or have everything figured out before we begin.
Sessions are relaxed, supportive and led by what feels important to you. You can bring whatever has been on your mind that week, explore something from your past, or simply start with how you’re feeling that day. If you’re unsure where to begin, I can offer gentle questions and reflections to help us explore things together.
Our work might involve understanding anxiety and overthinking, exploring where self-critical thoughts have come from, recognising patterns such as people-pleasing or perfectionism, or looking at your relationship with yourself and your body. We may also explore boundaries, relationships, difficult past experiences or the pressure you place on yourself.
There is no expectation to make progress at a particular speed. Some sessions may bring new realisations, while others might simply give you a much-needed space to talk, process and feel heard. Over time, therapy can help you understand yourself and your patterns more clearly, respond to yourself with greater compassion and feel more confident in recognising what you need.
I offer online counselling via video, allowing you to access therapy from a private and comfortable space without the need to travel.
Before booking your first session, I offer a free 15-minute consultation. This allows us to briefly discuss what has brought you to therapy, ask any questions you may have and get a sense of whether I might be the right therapist for you.
If you feel we could be a good fit, you’re welcome to get in touch.
My first session
Our first full session is 50 minutes. You don’t need to prepare anything, write anything down or know exactly what you want to talk about. We can simply start with what has been happening for you and what you would like some support with.
I’ll also talk you through confidentiality and how our sessions will work, and there will be plenty of opportunity for you to ask questions.
Most importantly, I won’t expect you to tell me everything in your first session. You are in control of what you share, and we will go at a pace that feels manageable for you. Some people come with a clear idea of what they want to work on, while others simply know that they don’t feel like themselves or that something needs to change. Both are completely okay.
Towards the end, we can talk about how the session felt and whether you would like to continue working together. If you do, we can discuss what would suit you best, including weekly or fortnightly sessions.
Sessions take place online via video, allowing you to have therapy from a private space where you feel comfortable.
