About me and my therapy practice

I'm a qualified BACP Reg. Therapeutic Counsellor here to help A- level, Uni students and recent graduates struggling with their work, identity and relationships. I understand how overwhelming it can be trying to juggle the pressures of study and fitting in while battling loneliness, anxiety or panic attacks, depression, intrusive thoughts or eating and addiction issues. I also know it’s possible to find confidence in yourself and alignment with your work and relationships with the right support.

With over 15 years experience working with Uni and College students, I know how disorienting and unnerving these big life changes can be. I know how tricky it can feel to make life defining choices while you're still figuring out who you are. I know the pressures of social media and the temptation to compare your messy insides to everyone's seemingly polished exterior. I know how easy it is to question your choices and capabilities and feel overawed by your future. I can help you take stock and re-find your power, clarity and joy.

In my counselling career I've supported many clients to let go of overwhelm, anxiety and low self- worth, and replace patterns that don't serve them with a lifestyle that honours their talents, energy- level and values. I’d love to help you too. We can work as deeply as you need to go, with difficulties you're carrying from the past, hopes or fears you might have for the future, or struggles you're facing now- whatever you need to bring.

Practice description

Previous clients have said they find me warm, sensitive and attentive, somebody they can trust to open up to knowing they're accepted and supported. Often students leave with a deeper understanding of who they are and with greater compassion for their own struggles. I have particular interest in working with shame, intrusive thoughts and low self esteem, and have further training and experience mentoring students with Autism and ADHD. Sometimes students need a more directive approach, and coaching can help you take stock of your life and explore practical changes so you feel more in control.

I am open to working with students from all cultural and class backgrounds. I am an ally of the LGBTQAI+ community, a HAES (health at every size) advocate, and open to all political/ religious persuasions. I'm very happy to consider the big questions of life, death and meaning with you or support you to explore your own spirituality. Previous clients have said sessions have helped them look honestly, deeply and kindly at themselves and find relief, direction and confidence going forward.

Don't hesitate to reach out for a free informal 30 minute to chat to see if I might be able to help. I look forward to hearing from you.
