It’s important to find a therapist you feel comfortable with. I offer a free 20-minute online call, followed by an initial £60 session to explore what you’re looking for, and to see if we are a good fit. All your questions are welcome.
Sessions are 50 minutes and £60. Fees may increase a little each year. I have two low-cost places available at any time, we can discuss a fee. We can meet in a therapy room in central Bristol, online, or for Walk and Talk sessions in Bristol or between Bristol and Bath.
About me and my therapy practice
You may be feeling stuck, low, overwhelmed, or struggling in your relationships. You might be unsure about your life’s direction, or exploring how the past shows up in the present, including how your experiences of society impact you and your sense of self. Counselling can be a place to explore your relationship to yourself and others.
I offer a warm, thoughtful space where you can bring yourself as you are. I will work alongside you with curiosity and care as we begin to make sense of what you are experiencing. This might include exploring what it is to be you, untangling thoughts and stories, noticing patterns of behaviour, and reflecting on experiences of discomfort or suffering. We may explore how your life experiences shape the present, look at relationships past and present, and make space to mourn losses, or what never was.
We may reflect on the systems that have shaped you, your current context, relationships, childhood experiences, and your hopes for the future. Therapy can be a place to try new ways of relating and being.
I have worked with people from a wide range of backgrounds and experiences; clients exploring low self-worth, feeling stuck or helpless, navigating neurodiversity or health diagnoses, life transitions, and loss. Client experiences have included childhood hardship, violence, neglect, abuse, trauma, disability, physical ill health, exploring sexuality, questioning gender, experiences of living between cultures. I have worked with family members of people impacted by addiction, homelessness, the criminal justice system. Together, we will find a way of working that feels most helpful for you, building a trusting, non-judgemental relationship where you can bring your whole self.
I have experience in private practice and within educational and non-profit organisations offering both time-limited and open-ended counselling.
Practice description
We will meet in central Bristol, online or in an agreed outdoor space.
I’m a Level 6 qualified and experienced Humanistic Integrative Counsellor. I draw on a range of approaches, including humanistic, psychodynamic, relational, creative, and body-focused work. I also offer Walk and Talk counselling.
I have over 25 years’ experience working with people from diverse backgrounds in community and professional settings, including non-profits (Bristol Mind, Off the Record, a Salvation Army Hostel), and education settings.
Walk & Talk: We will meet at an agreed place, for example a parkland, or a countryside location, and walk for an hour, perhaps pausing on the way. Alongside each other, we move through the outdoors, observing and exploring whatever you are bringing and whatever presents itself through the natural world. We may pick up objects, face seasonal changes and weathers together.
You do not need to have any experience or previous interest in nature or the outdoors, and we can choose a terrain suitable for your mobility needs, for example we can use sealed footpaths, avoid hills etc as appropriate. Walks are simple, safe and reflective, not about physical endurance. We may agree to do walking and talking virtually - you in your outdoor space and me in mine. We can discuss any of this in our first sessions together, including how we navigate confidentiality in outdoor spaces together.
I have done several trainings in working outdoors therapeutically: Natural Academy, Winchester Youth Counselling, Carmen Rendell, Creative Counsellor’s Hub. Here is an article about Walk & Talk therapy: https://www.bacp.co.uk/news/news-from-bacp/vlogs/2026/walk-and-talk-therapy/
