About me and my therapy practice

I am a fully qualified and experienced Integrative Counsellor based in North Devon, specialising in women’s mental health. I consider a trusting and meaningful relationship between a client and their counsellor to be the key to a successful outcome, and I place this overarching belief at the heart of my therapy practice.

I am a friendly and pragmatic therapist with a calm and gentle approach. I pride myself on my integrity, impartiality, and – above all – compassion. I want you to feel listened to and supported in a safe and confidential space, without fear of judgement, expectations, or consequences, so we can explore and understand the issues and challenges that are important to you.

As a therapist, I am not here to advise you on what path to take. Instead, we will work closely together to identify solutions and reach a place of clarity. Ultimately, I want you to be confident in your ability to navigate life’s challenges and feel empowered to make changes in areas that might be holding you back or preventing you from reaching your full potential.

Whether you are dealing with a recent crisis or would like to talk about an on-going issue or an event from your past, please do get in touch. I will listen with impartiality, and no subject is ever too big or too small. I offer counselling sessions online via Zoom.

Practice description

I use an integrative, person-centred approach, meaning that each session is tailored to meet your individual needs. Within a safe and caring environment, I will guide you to find your own insights, self-awareness, and strengths, using a wide range of both traditional and leading-edge therapeutic techniques.

I specialise in women’s health, particularly perinatal and maternal mental health, as well as life-debilitating conditions including anxiety and depression, grief, relationships, low self-esteem, stress, and anger issues.

I am experienced in therapies such as person-centred, gestalt, existential, and phenomenological, and during a session I may use techniques including CBT and creative interventions, if I feel they are appropriate for you.

I offer counselling online via Zoom, 50 minute sessions.

My first session

My initial, 15-minute consultation is free. This is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and establish what working together might be like. I will provide a safe and confidential space for you to talk about why you are seeking counselling and what you hope to get out of the sessions. I encourage you to ask me questions about my approach and the techniques I use, to decide if I am the right choice for you.
