About me and my therapy practice
I understand the people who work so hard to meet all their responsibilities, but still end up feeling overwhelmed, anxious, stuck or unfulfilled. I specialise in supporting relationship struggles, family dynamic issues, anxiety and low self worth.
I know how the juggle of life commitments like work, family, relationships and other responsibilities can leave us with little time to think of ourselves, leaving us feeling overwhelmed, anxious or worn out. Especially if a curve ball or unexpected news is thrown our way. I offer a calm, supportive space alongside practical therapy based tools to make sense of what you're going through and explore what could help you feel more comfortable, confident and fulfilled.
I believe therapy should give you space to think about the longer term, while also providing practical changes to help life feel a little easier right now. We can look at what is happening for you, how it affects your relationships and everyday life, then where appropriate explore some of the deeper patterns that may be influencing how you feel.
Sessions with me draw on my academic qualifications in Person-Centred Therapy and Interpersonal Therapy and also my degrees in Genetics and BioSciences.
Alongside this I have professional experience providing therapy within the corporate, NHS, charitable and educational sectors. This includes working with trauma, perinatal mental health, SEND, anxiety and depression. This background has given me a broad understanding of the various pressures people can experience and the most appropriate approaches to support each of these.
If you're considering therapy but have any questions or aren't sure whether it's right for you, you're very welcome to get in touch. You can directly book an initial session with me, or request a short complimentary telephone call to ask any questions you might have. I look forward to hearing from you.
Practice description
I offer in person daytime sessions from my comfortable office located in Hessle (on site parking available).
I also offer daytime and evening sessions remotely via Microsoft Teams or telephone. I built my business this way as I appreciate the value that online therapy provides clients. Video sessions provide convenience, flexibility and the privacy of having your session from wherever you feel comfortable.
You are also welcome to have younger children present during your sessions as I understand childcare is not always available.
I accept clients nationally across the UK and also local to East Yorkshire.
My first session
Our first session is an opportunity to talk about what has brought you to therapy including what you'd maybe like to be different and what you hope to gain from our work together. You don't have to know exactly what you need before contacting me as we can begin by making sense of things together.
As therapy progresses, we can then regularly review how you feel the sessions are going and recognise the changes you are noticing.
If you would like a short complimentary phone call prior to booking your first session with me I am happy to offer this on request. This gives a quick opportunity to ask any questions you may have and get a feel for what working with me may be like for you.

About me and my therapy practice
You may be someone who is used to keeping everything going, managing responsibilities and being there for people who need you. From the outside you might seem to be coping well, while inside you’re feeling overwhelmed, anxious, exhausted or stuck. Perhaps you're fed up of feeling like this and ready for a change which is why you’re considering therapy.
You might be dealing with low confidence or self-worth, finding relationships difficult, or struggling with tricky family dynamics. And if life throws an unexpected change or difficult news this can add to the pressure you already felt.
I understand how difficult it can be to make time for yourself when life already feels full. My aim is to offer a warm, calm and non-judgemental space where you don’t need to have everything figured out. We can slow things down, make sense of what you’re experiencing and explore what you need.
I believe therapy should help you think about the longer term while also providing practical tools to make life feel easier now. Together we can explore what is happening for you, how it affects your relationships and everyday life and where appropriate some of the deeper patterns influencing how you feel.
My approach draws on my qualifications in Person-Centred and Interpersonal Therapy, alongside my 2 degrees in Biology. This means where relevant I can help you understand some of the science behind how you’re feeling.
I have professional experience providing therapy across corporate, NHS, charitable and educational settings, including working with trauma, perinatal mental health, SEND, anxiety and depression. This has given me broad experience of the different challenges people can face and the importance of tailoring therapy to each individual.
If you’re considering therapy but have questions or aren’t sure whether it’s right for you, you’re very welcome to get in touch. You can book an initial session directly or request a short complimentary telephone call.
I look forward to hearing from you.

For in person sessions I've designed my office as a space where you can slow down, relax and take breather from the rest of your day. I offer daytime and evening sessions remotely via Microsoft Teams or telephone. I offer this as I appreciate the value that online therapy provides with the convenience, flexibility and privacy of having sessions from a location of your choice.
You are welcome to have younger children present during your sessions as I understand childcare is not always available.
