About me and my therapy practice
I support the people who are doing their best to keep everything together but still end up feeling overwhelmed, anxious, stuck or unfulfilled. I know how the juggle of life commitments like work, family, relationships and other responsibilities can leave us with little time to think of ourselves, leaving us feeling overwhelmed, anxious or worn out. Especially if a curve ball or unexpected news is thrown our way. I offer a calm, supportive space and practical therapy based tools to make sense of what you're experiencing and explore what could help you feel more comfortable, confident and fulfilled.
Sessions with me draw on my qualifications in in Person-Centred Therapy and Interpersonal Therapy. My approach is warm, collaborative and practical. I believe therapy should give you space to be heard and understood, while also helping you explore ways of making meaningful changes. We can look at what is happening for you now, how it affects your relationships and everyday life, and where appropriate explore some of the deeper patterns that may be influencing how you feel.
Alongside my therapeutic qualifications, my professional experience within the corporate, NHS, charitable and SEND educational sectors provides a broad understanding of the different pressures people can experience and the most appropriate approaches to support these.
If you're considering therapy but aren't sure whether it's right for you, you're very welcome to get in touch by email to discuss an initial session or arrange a short complimentary telephone call. This gives you an opportunity to ask any questions and get a sense of whether I might be the right therapist for you, with no pressure or obligation. I'd love to hear from you if you have any questions or would like to book a session directly so please feel welcome to contact me.
Practice description
I offer daytime and evening sessions remotely via Microsoft Teams or telephone. I offer this as I appreciate the value that online sessions provide you with the convenience, flexibility and privacy of having your session from a place where you feel comfortable.
You are also welcome to have younger children present during your sessions as I understand childcare is not always available.
I work with clients local to East Yorkshire and also nationally across the UK.
My first session
Our first session is an opportunity to talk about what has brought you to therapy including what you'd maybe like to be different and what you hope to gain from our work together. You don't have to know exactly what you need before contacting me as we can begin by making sense of things together.
As therapy progresses, we can then regularly review how you feel the sessions are going and recognise the changes you are noticing.
If you would like a short complimentary phone call prior to booking your first session with me I am happy to offer this on request. This gives a quick opportunity to ask any questions you may have and get a feel for what working with me may be like for you.
