About me and my therapy practice
I understand the people who work so hard to meet all their responsibilities, but still end up feeling overwhelmed, anxious, stuck or unfulfilled. I specialise in supporting relationship struggles, family dynamic issues, anxiety and low self worth.
I know how the juggle of life commitments like work, family, relationships and other responsibilities can leave us with little time to think of ourselves, leaving us feeling overwhelmed, anxious or worn out. Especially if a curve ball or unexpected news is thrown our way. I offer a calm, supportive space alongside practical therapy based tools to make sense of what you're going through and explore what could help you feel more comfortable, confident and fulfilled.
I believe therapy should give you space to think about the longer term, while also providing practical changes to help life feel a little easier right now. We can look at what is happening for you, how it affects your relationships and everyday life, then where appropriate explore some of the deeper patterns that may be influencing how you feel.
Sessions with me draw on my qualifications in Person-Centred Therapy and Interpersonal Therapy as well as my degrees in Genetics and BioSciences.
Alongside my qualifications I have professional therapy experience within the corporate, NHS, charitable and SEND educational sectors. This includes working with trauma, perinatal mental health, anxiety and depression. This background has given me a broad understanding of the different pressures people experience and the most appropriate approaches to support each of these.
If you're considering therapy but aren't sure whether it's right for you, you're very welcome to get in touch to book an initial session or arrange a short complimentary telephone call to ask any questions you might have.
Practice description
I offer daytime and evening sessions remotely via Microsoft Teams or telephone. I offer this as I appreciate the value that online sessions provide clients. Online therapy sessions give clients convenience, flexibility and privacy of having your session from a place where you feel comfortable.
You are also welcome to have younger children present during your sessions as I understand childcare is not always available.
I work with clients local to Yorkshire and also nationally across the UK.
My first session
Our first session is an opportunity to talk about what has brought you to therapy including what you'd maybe like to be different and what you hope to gain from our work together. You don't have to know exactly what you need before contacting me as we can begin by making sense of things together.
As therapy progresses, we can then regularly review how you feel the sessions are going and recognise the changes you are noticing.
If you would like a short complimentary phone call prior to booking your first session with me I am happy to offer this on request. This gives a quick opportunity to ask any questions you may have and get a feel for what working with me may be like for you.
