Availability
I am available for in person therapy with individuals and couples on a Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. I can be more flexible with online sessions. I tend to work evenings until 9pm to fit in with your work schedule.
I currently have limited space for new clients.
I will always respond to you within 24 hours of an enquiry, I know how frustrating it is to reach out for help and to be left unanswered. Initial consultations and assessments are free.
About me and my therapy practice
Hello. Thank you for taking the time to read my profile. I know it can feel overwhelming trying to find the right therapist, so let me tell you a little about how I work.
I am an experienced psychotherapist who works integratively. I am trained in different therapeutic approaches and believe therapy is not a one-size-fits-all model. I will tailor my approach around you, your needs and the difficulties you want to work through. I am very down to earth, and I believe the key to successful therapy is the relationship we build together.
I work one-to-one with individuals and have a lot of experience in couples and relationship counselling, as well as adult family mediation. People come to therapy for many different reasons. You may be struggling with anxiety, low mood, difficult relationships, trauma, loss, low self-esteem or simply feeling stuck. Sometimes there is a clear problem, and at other times you may just know that something does not feel right.
I work with trauma, relationship difficulties, sexual problems, anxiety, depression, suicidal thoughts, stress, health anxiety and self-esteem. I understand that sometimes it is simply really difficult to be human and to make sense of who we are, what we want and where we are going.
Existential therapy forms an important part of my work. This means thinking together about meaning, purpose, identity and direction in life. Sometimes we can appear to be functioning well on the outside while feeling something is missing.
I am trained in humanistic counselling and psychotherapy, and may also draw on CBT interventions and psychodynamic ideas. This can look at earlier experiences, patterns, and how they may still influence the way you feel and relate to others in the here and now.
I want therapy to be a space where you can talk openly and honestly without judgement. I will listen and support you, but also gently challenge you when I think it may be helpful. My aim is for us to work together in a way that feels genuine.
Practice description
I am a BACP counsellor with a post-graduate diploma in Systemic Integrative psychotherapy. I have had additional training in couples therapy which forms a large part of my practice.
My work is informed by a wide range of therapeutic theories, which I adapt to the individual. At the heart of my work is a strong therapeutic relationship built on trust, honesty and mutual respect.
I have worked with people experiencing a broad range of life difficulties, and I bring that depth of experience into the room while remaining mindful that every person and every situation is different. My way of working often helps clients get to the heart of what is really going on fairly quickly, allowing us to focus our time on what feels most important and useful to you.
I work in a beautiful space just outside of Bloxham which is quiet and private space. There is free parking and disabled access and toilets.
My first session
I can offer you a free 30 minute consultation and assessment either online or in my counselling space. This can be a chance for both of us to see if we can feel we are the right fit. I will ask you some questions to understand what level of support you need and see if I have the relevant skills to support you effectively.
I will also spend some time asking how you have felt talking to me and if you feel I am what you were looking for in a therapist. You may need some time to think this through, and I will not pressure you into a decision.
This is your therapy experience, and it needs to feel right for you. Please ask me any questions you have, and let me know if there is something that I have missed or that you think I am not paying enough attention to. I want to give you the autonomy to choose how your therapy goes and help you get the results you deserve.
