About me and my therapy practice

At its core, my approach revolves around you, the client. Together, we embark on a collaborative journey towards healing and growth. Through our work together, we'll delve into your past experiences and responses, unravelling the threads that have shaped your current challenges.

With a keen focus on building resilience, we'll explore how to navigate life's obstacles with greater ease and confidence. My goal is to provide support and empower you to become your own agent of change.

I believe in the power of collaboration and mutual respect in the therapeutic process. Your input and feedback are essential as we tailor our approach to meet your unique needs and goals. Together, we'll celebrate your progress, no matter how small, and navigate setbacks with compassion and resilience.

In this safe and supportive space, you'll find the tools and guidance you need to embark on a journey of self-discovery and transformation. I look forward to working with you and supporting you every step of the way.

Practice description

In our collaborative sessions, we'll employ the principles of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to explore and reframe the thoughts, emotions, and behaviours that may be contributing to your challenges. Together, we'll examine the underlying beliefs and automatic responses that drive these patterns, shedding light on how they impact your well-being.

Using evidence-based techniques rooted in CBT, we'll challenge these unhelpful patterns and develop personalised strategies to cultivate healthier ways of thinking and behaving. Through cognitive restructuring, we'll examine the evidence supporting your beliefs and explore alternative interpretations that are more adaptive and realistic.

Furthermore, we'll incorporate behavioural experiments and exposure techniques to test new behaviours and beliefs in real-life situations, gradually building confidence and resilience. We'll pave the way for lasting change and personal growth by systematically confronting fears and breaking avoidance patterns.

Throughout our sessions, you'll learn practical skills to manage distressing emotions, cope with challenging situations, and enhance your overall well-being. Together, we'll create a roadmap for progress, celebrating successes and addressing setbacks with compassion and understanding.

With dedication and commitment, you'll gain the tools and insights to navigate life's challenges with confidence and resilience, empowering you to live a more fulfilling and meaningful life.

My first session

In our first session together, we'll begin by completing a relevant assessment tool to gain insights into the issues bringing you to therapy. Through structured dialogue, we'll explore how these challenges are influencing your thoughts, emotions, and behaviours. Together, we'll establish a collaborative contract outlining our roles and responsibilities. We'll then set a framework for future sessions and address any questions or concerns you may have about the therapeutic process. Lastly, we'll employ cognitive-behavioural techniques to collaboratively set SMART (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Time-bound) goals, ensuring our focus is on practical, achievable outcomes for your journey ahead.
