About me and my therapy practice

A warm welcome to private individual therapy with Carolina.

I provide bespoke Integrative psychotherapy, counselling, and coaching, I specialise in a wide range of issues, including chronic anxiety, depression, anger, trauma, relationship issues, family issues, childhood trauma, bereavement and loss, stress, burnout,  addictions, ADHD, childhood behavioural difficulties, PTSD, mood disorders, and personality disorders.

I work with women’s health, men’s health, students 16+, couples, and private healthcare insurance referrals.

I offer long-term Integrative psychotherapy, short-term counselling (+12 sessions), or single session therapy (one-off), and a confidential sanctuary to explore complex emotions, behaviours, relationships, and life's complexities.

A normal part of being human is experiencing challenges in life, but sometimes those challenges may feel overwhelming. When life events bring about pain or distress, they may prompt us to question our fundamental beliefs; we may begin to reassess our habitual responses and explore alternative ways of being. As we don’t choose our genetic and developmental background, the journey of self-exploration can be challenging, perplexing, and intricate. With a compassionate demeanour, I bring a unique blend of clinical expertise and a nuanced understanding of human behaviour and its complexities, drawing from a wealth of experience and a rich professional background in the corporate world, high-performing sectors, education, academia, and life.

My strengths lie in my capacity to build strong relationships with my clients, whereby you feel understood and supported, whilst simultaneously adapting my clinical expertise and psychotherapeutic knowledge to meet your needs, and together, we can explore the root causes of issues and discover new ways for approaching challenging situations, providing practical coping strategies that will support your psychological well-being.

Practice description

Integrative psychotherapy is like the eclectic playlist of therapeutic approaches—I combine different clinical evidence-based methods to tailor the therapy to your unique needs,  considering your specific issues, personality, and preferences. Integrative therapy is versatile and flexible, drawing on many different psychological theories and therapeutic models to help you explore and manage your symptoms.

About me and my therapy practice

I'm offering low-cost supervision for counsellors and therapists in 2024 whilst I’m completing hours towards supervisor accreditation.

I currently have one space available for in-person or online supervision.

My low-cost supervision offer could be a great option if you’re a newly-qualified or early career counsellor or therapist embarking on your practice, or a trainee looking for additional support alongside your existing arrangements with a qualified supervisor. I use the Seven-Eyed Supervision Model of Supervision with a focus on interpersonal relationships, collaboration and the therapeutic alliance.

As an Integrative practitioner, I draw on: humanistic, person-centred, relational, trauma-informed approaches, attachment theory, Transactional Analysis, psychodynamic (past in the present, unconscious process and attachments); interpersonal neurobiology, Transactional Analysis (TA), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), existential theory, and ACT mindfulness.

I trained with Robin Sohet (author of the Seven-Eyed Supervision Model) at CSTD London and have completed all four modules of the Certificate in Supervision. In my work as a supervisor, I bring  kindness, warmth, intellectual rigour, commitment, and a down-to-earth approach to my work. I build genuine and trusting relationships where supervisees feel safe to explore challenges and struggles. I believe in positive psychology and focus on supervisee's strengths and values.

Practice description

I have a busy and thriving private practice in GU5, near Guildford and London. I have previously worked at the Sutton Women's Abuse Centre, The Counselling Partnership, and the University of Surrey.

I support adult clients from diverse backgrounds, from 16+ onwards, all bringing a broad range of life challenges. I have am experienced in working with anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD, grief and loss; abuse; insomnia, stress, relationship difficulties; childhood trauma, challenges with self-esteem, self-compassion; life transitions; ADHD, neurodiversity, women's health; men's health; addictions, food, eating and body image; low mood; serious illness, EUPD, Bi-polar, and other mental health disorders and mood disorders.

I am an Integrative Psychotherapeutic Counsellor, registered with the BACP,  and accredited with NCPS. I draw on several other theoretical approaches in my work, especially trauma, attachment, relational, somatic and body work, Internal Family Systems, and neurobiology.

My first session

When you initially inquiry about supervision, I'll reach out to schedule a complimentary 20-minute exploratory call. During this call, we'll delve into my approach to supervision and begin to outline how our collaboration might unfold.

Following this initial conversation, the next step involves arranging a trial supervision session at a low-cost fee of £35. During this session, I'll inquire about your current professional practice, focusing on areas of success, areas for growth, challenges you're facing, and your expectations from supervision. We'll likely explore a specific client case to provide you with a firsthand experience of my approach.

Should you decide to proceed, and if I believe I'm well-suited to support you, we'll establish a plan for future sessions, and I'll ask you to complete a supervision agreement.

My primary objective is to make sure you receive the most beneficial supervision tailored to your needs as a practitioner and for the benefit of your clients. I'm here to assist you in making an informed decision regarding your supervision journey.
