About me and my therapy practice

Remote Counselling and Face-to-Face

I provide a safe, compassionate and non-judgemental space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings and experiences openly and at your own pace. I work with adults experiencing a wide range of emotional and psychological challenges, including private clients, university students and Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) referrals.

My approach is integrative and holistic, combining different therapeutic approaches to meet your needs. I offer both short-term and longer-term counselling. Sessions are mainly online, with face-to-face appointments available on request.

I am a Bupa-recognised therapist and follow the ethical frameworks of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS). I regularly undertake continuing professional development to keep safe and ethical practice.

I hold a PhD in Philosophy and Religion, with a focus on minority religions. This has given me a particular interest in identity, culture, spirituality, values, meaning and belonging. My scholarly and teaching experience has also given me an understanding of the pressures associated with demanding academic and teaching environments, including career uncertainty, leadership, high expectations and ethical dilemmas.

I have a particular interest in AI ethics and responsible technology and hold the internationally recognised IEEE CertifAIEd™ AI Ethics Professional certification. This has opened some wellbeing reflections and studies of the pressures and uncertainties people may experience in a changing professional environment.

The use of the title Dr in this directory listing relates to the member’s doctorate qualification. However, the title does not imply a general medical qualification.
