Practice description
Hi, I’m Beth, a fully qualified therapist, here to support you on your journey of transformation.
If you’re feeling overwhelmed, lost, stuck, or not quite yourself, you’re not alone - and you don’t have to go through it by yourself. At Take Flight Therapy, I offer a calm, welcoming space where all parts of you are accepted, respected, and gently explored. A safe, compassionate place to help you grow, heal, and thrive.
Like a caterpillar in its cocoon, change may feel uncertain or heavy at times, yet within you lies the potential to take flight. Using a warm, non-judgemental, person-centred approach, I walk alongside you as you rediscover your voice, reconnect with your needs, and gently unfurl the wings of who you truly are at your own pace, in your own unique way.
I can help with challenges including (but not limited to):
• Anxiety • Panic • Depression • Low Mood • Trauma • PTSD • Relationship Struggles • Grief • Loss • Low Self-Esteem • Childhood Wounds • Identity Issues • Anger • Abuse (emotional, physical, sexual) • Work Stress • Burnout • Life Transitions • Loneliness • Shame • Body Image • Neurodiversity Support • Autism • ADHD • Gender • LGBTQIA+ • LGBTQIA+ Affirming Therapy • Family Issues • Chronic Illness • Attachment Issues • Self-Harm • Suicidal Thoughts • Inner Critic • Emotional Numbness • Religious/ Spiritual Crisis • And more.
No issue is “too small” or “too big” - if it matters to you, it matters here, and you'll be met with care and respect.
You are not broken, you are becoming.
My first session
Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and for you to share what has brought you to therapy at this point in your life. There is no pressure to “get it all out” straight away - we’ll go at your pace, in a way that feels safe and manageable for you.
I will explain how I work, answer any questions you might have, and together we’ll explore what you would like to focus on in therapy. This is also your chance to get a sense of whether I feel like the right therapist for you - the relationship is key, and it’s important that you feel comfortable.
Some clients come with a clear idea of what they want to work on, while others simply know that something doesn’t feel right. Both are completely okay. You don’t need to prepare anything in advance; just bring yourself as you are.
Confidentiality, respect, and compassion are at the heart of my practice, and from the very first session you can expect to be met with warmth, acceptance, and care.
