About me and my therapy practice

Hi, I’m Pavla, a BACP therapist in Southend for anxiety, depression, bereavement & stress.

The most important thing in therapy? Connection. You don’t need to have the right words or know where to start. My job is to meet you where you are, without judgment, and work together to help you feel more like yourself again.

I’m a BACP-registered and trained as an integrative therapist. I offer warm, down-to-earth therapy online and in-person in Southend-on-Sea.

If you’re feeling overwhelmed and want someone genuine in your corner, get in touch for a free 30-min chat.

Practice description

I work integratively, mainly using Person-centred therapy and CBT. But therapy with me isn’t about fitting you into a model, it’s about finding what actually helps you.

Sessions are collaborative and down-to-earth. We’ll go at your pace. Some clients want practical CBT tools to manage anxiety, stress, or overthinking. Others need space to talk through grief, depression, or burnout without pressure to “be positive”. Often it’s a mix of both.

I’m warm, genuine and direct. You won’t get clinical jargon or awkward silences. My role is to sit alongside you, human to human, while we make sense of what’s going on so you feel less alone and more able to cope.

I work with young people and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, bereavement, stress, low self-esteem, life changes, and burnout. I have experience in long-term work and specialise in supporting neurodivergent clients, including those with ADHD and autism.

I offer online sessions across the UK and face-to-face appointments in Southend-on-Sea. I work short-term or long-term, depending on what you need.

My first session

The first session is a chance for us to meet and see if we’re a good fit. There’s no pressure to dive into everything straight away.

We’ll talk about what’s bringing you to therapy, what you’d like to be different, and any questions you have about how I work. I’ll explain confidentiality and we’ll agree how we want to work together. If you’re not sure where to start or what to say, that’s completely normal, and I’ll help guide it.

For young people, the first session may involve parents/carers at the start so we can discuss concerns and goals. Then I’ll spend time 1:1 with the young person. With neurodivergent clients, we can talk about what helps you feel safe and comfortable — fidgets, breaks, camera off for online, or a walk-and-talk if we’re in person.

It’s a relaxed 50-minute session. No forms to fill in while I watch you, no tests, and no judgement. Just a conversation to help you decide if therapy with me feels right. If it does, we’ll book regular sessions. If not, I’ll help signpost you to someone who might be a better match.

I offer a free 30-minute call before booking, so you don’t have to commit to a full first session to ask questions.
