About me and my therapy practice
My name is Pavla Lee, and I am a BACP-registered integrative counsellor. I offer therapy that is tailored to you, rather than a one-size-fits-all approach. Whether this is your first time considering counselling or you have previous experience, my aim is to make the process understandable, safe, and supportive.
At the heart of my work is the belief that real change comes from the connection between client and counsellor. Therapy is collaborative and that we work together to understand what is happening in your life and to find ways to cope, grow, and feel more in control. You do not need to have all the answers or even know exactly what you want to talk about; we begin wherever you are.
Alongside my client work, I also provide clinical group supervision for a bereavement charity. This informs my practice and supports my commitment to reflective, ethical, and evidence-based work.
My style is engaged, thoughtful, and human. I value warmth, authenticity, and, where appropriate, humour, recognising that these qualities are an important part of effective therapy.
Practice description
I am trained in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), which supports people in recognising and changing unhelpful patterns of thinking and behaviour, and the Person-Centred approach, which focuses on understanding, acceptance, and emotional safety. I integrate these approaches in a flexible and practical way, informed by psychological research. I will always explain what we are doing and why, so therapy feels clear and relevant to you.
I work with people experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma and PTSD, grief, relationship difficulties, self-harm, stress, and work-related challenges. I also support neurodivergent clients, including people with ADHD, autism, and other cognitive or sensory differences, adapting therapy to suit how you think, communicate, and process the world.
A session is a space where you can talk, reflect, and explore what is on your mind in a way that feels comfortable for you. This is your space to be met as you are. If you are considering therapy and would like to understand how we might work together, you are welcome to get in touch to ask questions or arrange an initial session. Together, we can take the next step towards understanding, resilience, and lasting change.
My first session
I offer a free introductory session, usually by telephone or online. This gives you the opportunity to briefly talk about what has brought you to counselling, ask any questions, and get a sense of how it might feel to work together before deciding whether to begin therapy.
During this session, I may ask a few gentle questions to better understand your situation and explore how therapy might support you.
