About me and my therapy practice

With lived experience of both, I specialise in working with people from neurodivergent and chronic illness communities, but welcome enquiries from anyone who has ever felt like they don't fit in. I work with people like you every day to discover what's important to them, understand their own minds and bodies, and build the confidence to take control of their own lives.

You might feel the people in your life don’t fully understand you, that you’re always one step out of sync with everyone else. You may feel the pressure to do well, live a meaningful life, have good relationships, but always feel like you’re falling short. Perhaps your experiences have made you wary, perhaps you feel like you always wear a mask, perhaps you have tried reaching out for help before and had a bad experience.

As a qualified integrative counsellor, I use a variety of approaches and strategies that I tailor to your individual needs. Whether you need structure or a free-flowing space for exploration, I will work alongside you to work on the issues you want to address in a way that suits your needs best.

Practice description

I offer sessions online from the comfort of your own home, or in my welcoming and accessible rooms in the centre of Chorley.

Sessions are 50 minutes long as standard, but if you require shorter sessions due to limited energy levels, I can accommodate this.

Sessions can be weekly, fortnightly, monthly, or even ad hoc, depending on your needs and resources.

Some people prefer to contain the work within the sessions, and others prefer to have something to work on in between. We will discuss your preferences during your sessions and structure our work around this.

My first session

Before booking in our first session, I offer a free phone or video call lasting up to 20 minutes to discuss what you want from therapy, your goals, and to discover if we are the right fit for each other.

Following this phone call, if we choose to go forward, I will send you my service agreement which tells you everything you need to know about working with me, and we will book our first session.

The first session is usually an exploration of what is going on for you at the moment, the different areas of your life, and identifying goals to work on in the coming sessions.
