Availability
I currently offer a very small number of counselling appointments, exclusively at weekends. I am intentionally keeping my practice small while I establish my work, allowing me to give each client the time, attention and care they deserve.
As my practice develops, I plan to gradually increase my availability and the number of clients I am able to support. Weekend appointments are currently my main availability, with sessions offered online.
About me and my therapy practice
As a person-centred counsellor, I offer a warm, confidential and non-judgemental space where clients can explore their thoughts, feelings and experiences at their own pace. I believe that each person has the capacity for growth and greater self-understanding when they feel genuinely heard, accepted and supported.
Rather than giving advice or telling clients what they should do, I work collaboratively with them to explore what feels important and meaningful to them. Through empathy, active listening and acceptance, I aim to help clients develop a deeper understanding of themselves, build self-awareness and find their own way forward.
Practice description
I offer a warm, confidential and non-judgemental space where you can talk openly about whatever you may be experiencing. You don’t need to have everything figured out before coming to counselling — you can simply bring what is on your mind and we can explore it together.
As a person-centred counsellor, I believe that you are the expert in your own life. My role is not to judge, diagnose or tell you what you should do, but to listen with genuine empathy, curiosity and acceptance. I will support you in exploring your thoughts, feelings, relationships and experiences at a pace that feels right for you.
I have particular experience working with bereavement and loss, and understand that grief can take many different forms and affect each person differently. I am comfortable working with clients for a shorter period, on a time-limited basis around a particular concern, or longer-term when there is a desire to explore things more deeply. We can discuss what feels most appropriate for you and review this together as our work develops.
Our sessions are a space where you can feel heard and understood, perhaps in ways that you may not always experience elsewhere. Together, we can develop a deeper understanding of what you are going through, identify patterns that may be affecting you and create space for greater self-awareness and personal growth.
I work online, offering flexibility and accessibility while maintaining a professional and confidential therapeutic environment. Whether you are going through a difficult period, experiencing loss, feeling stuck, struggling to understand yourself or simply wanting a space to reflect, you are welcome to bring whatever feels important to you.
My first session
Our first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and for you to get a sense of whether counselling with me feels right for you. We can talk about what has brought you to counselling, what you would like support with, and anything you feel is important for me to understand.
I may also offer some brief, optional questionnaires, such as the PHQ-9 or GAD-7. These are simply tools that can help us get a little more insight into how you have been feeling. There is absolutely no pressure to complete them, and they are not used to diagnose you. If you choose to use them, we can revisit them from time to time as a way of noticing whether anything has changed or whether there may be areas that would benefit from further support.
Most importantly, there is no expectation that you arrive with everything worked out. We can simply start where you are.
