About me and my therapy practice
Clients often come away with a greater understanding of themselves—why they think, feel, and respond in certain ways. As we work together, you may begin to notice patterns more clearly and feel more able to make sense of your experiences. This awareness can bring a sense of relief and help you feel more in control of your thoughts and emotions.
Alongside this, I aim to offer practical tools and gentle guidance that you can use in your everyday life. Many clients find they start to feel more confident in handling challenges, communicating with others, and making choices that feel right for them. Even in a relatively short space of time, small but meaningful changes can begin to make a real difference.
Practice description
I tailor the way I work to suit you and what feels most helpful in the moment. At times, you may want a more gentle, non-directive space where you can talk freely, reflect, and feel truly heard without interruption or pressure. At other times, you might prefer a more structured and directive approach, where I offer guidance, tools, and practical suggestions to help you move forward.
We can move between these styles depending on your needs, always at a pace that feels comfortable for you. My aim is to create a flexible, supportive space where you feel both understood and actively supported in making the changes that matter to you.
My first session
In our first session, we’ll take things at your pace. It’s a chance for you to share what’s brought you to counselling and what’s been going on for you, in a safe, confidential, and non-judgemental space. You don’t need to have everything figured out—just coming as you are is enough, and I’ll gently guide the conversation if needed.
We’ll also begin to get a sense of what you’d like from therapy and how I can best support you. I may ask a few questions to understand your experiences more clearly, and together we’ll think about the most helpful way forward, drawing on approaches like CBT, TA, and PCT. It’s important that you feel comfortable and supported from the very start.
