About me and my therapy practice

Hello, I’m Emma King, a qualified psychotherapist with a passion for helping individuals navigate life’s challenges and discover meaning in their experiences. My approach is rooted in existential psychotherapy, which invites clients to reflect on their values, choices, and sense of purpose.

I offer a safe, compassionate, and non-judgmental space for you to explore your thoughts and feelings at your own pace. Whether you're feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected, I’m here to help you make sense of your experiences and feel more grounded in yourself.

I have particular experience working with clients exploring self-esteem, life transitions, relationships, addiction, and spirituality. I understand that beginning therapy can feel overwhelming, and my aim is to create a welcoming environment that feels comfortable and supportive.

Practice description

I work from an existential framework, which encourages self-reflection and helps clients explore what gives life meaning. This approach is particularly helpful when you’re feeling stuck, questioning your purpose, or navigating major life transitions.

In our work together, I’ll support you in making sense of your experiences and reconnecting with your sense of self. I also draw from humanistic and psychodynamic approaches, tailoring sessions to your unique needs.

While I’m comfortable discussing practical strategies, my work is often explorative and reflective, focusing on who you are beneath the surface. I believe that through self-awareness, clients can uncover new possibilities for growth and meaningful change

My first session

I offer a free 15-minute Zoom consultation to help you get a feel for how I work and see if we're a good fit.
