About me and my therapy practice
*February 2026 - Limited availability*
Perhaps you have navigated life quite well up until now, but with the increased responsibility of adult-life, you’re struggling to ‘keep up’ with the demands.
Perhaps you feel a bit ‘different’ or ‘misunderstood’ - or simply feel you aren't reaching your potential in life.
How I can help...
Short-term counselling:
You may have an issue in one area of your life and have an idea of what change you would like to make but feel unable or unsure of taking the steps to get there. In this case, you may benefit from short-term counselling that is more solution focused.
I offer a genuine human connection, supporting you in identifying any patterns of behaviour that may be holding you back from taking action. We can explore and reevaluate any negative self-beliefs, practicing self-compassion and supporting your personal growth.
Long-term counselling:
You may be feeling lost and unsure of exactly what is causing your low mood. It may be impacting more than one area of your life and be hard to remember a time when you weren’t battling this. In this instance, it is worth considering long-term counselling.
Taking a longer-term approach will allow us to build a connection and a foundation of trust, through which I can support you to gain a deeper understanding of yourself and of your presenting issues. It may sound overwhelming, but we will work at your pace, and will explore what arises naturally for you.
We can explore your internal world; your thoughts, feelings, hopes, fears.
We can explore your external world; your behaviours, your significant relationships and perhaps consider your boundaries.
We may explore your childhood and other significant periods of your life in a safe and holding environment.
Method / Approach:
I have training in several therapeutic approaches; Person-centred, Cognitive behavioural, Psychodynamic and Attachment theory, tailoring my approach to suit your individual needs.
Practice description
Starting therapy can feel like adding something else to your ‘to-do list’ but my goal is to make the process as simple as possible, and ensure you feel supported and understood right from the start.
All sessions are 50 minutes and will take place on an online video platform, weekly, at an agreed time.
I will always reply to your emails (please check your spam or junk folder if you haven’t received a reply within three working days).
My first session
Initial phone call
Choosing a counsellor that you feel comfortable with and connected to, or who you feel you can work towards this with, is so important. For this reason, I am happy to offer you a free 15-minute call to explore together what brings you to counselling, how my approach might suit you and whether you wish to proceed with therapy with me.
First session
In our first session, we will explore your world, your expectations from therapy and any particular areas of your life you would like to focus on.
Some clients like to set goals, others don't, either is fine. We will work at your pace and establish what is comfortable for you.
Moving forward
For short-term clients I recommend an initial commitment of 6-8 sessions, after which we can review our work and decide how to move forward. For long-term clients, we may decide to work on an open-ended contract, meaning you can stay in therapy for as long as you wish.
