About me and my therapy practice
Hi, I'm Cath, an integrative counsellor & psychotherapist.
I support adults through grief and loss, relationship difficulties and life transitions, offering a warm, thoughtful space to make sense of the emotional impact of change.
I work with anxiety, low mood, low self-esteem and relationship challenges, and how these can show up during times of loss, life changes or stress.
Grief and Loss
Clients come to me for support with grief and loss in its many forms, including bereavement, the end of relationships, and changes in health, career or identity.
My training and experience as a Counsellor in a hospice setting has deepened my understanding of grief. I supported patients and their families through bereavement, loss, and the emotional challenges of living with, or caring for someone with, a life-limiting illness, seeing firsthand the many ways grief can show up.
Life Transitions and Change
I also work with people navigating change such as divorce, empty nest, shifting family roles and uncertainty about the future.
Chronic Health and Illness
I have experience supporting clients living with chronic or life-limiting illness, and those feeling anxious, low in confidence or overwhelmed by health concerns.
Relationship and Identity
Many people I work with feel disconnected from themselves, unsure of who they are now, or struggle to adapt to changes in relationships or family life. Together, we explore what has been lost, what feels unsettled, and what might be emerging.
Perimenopause and Menopause
I also have a special interest in supporting women through perimenopause and menopause. This can be a time of profound emotional and physical change, often bringing feelings of grief, anxiety, low mood, loss of confidence and questions about identity.
Whatever brings you to therapy, I offer a confidential, supportive space to make sense of your experiences, notice unhelpful patterns and develop greater understanding, self-compassion and resilience.
Practice description
Every client brings their own life experiences, beliefs and ways of seeing the world. As an integrative counsellor, I adapt my approach to your individual needs, drawing on a variety of therapeutic methods to support you effectively.
At the heart of my work is building a strong, trusting relationship. I offer a warm, accepting and compassionate space where you will be heard, understood and your experiences validated.
I work with adults from 18+ through to older adults and the elderly, both in-person and online. Sessions can be short or long-term, and we’ll discuss the planned duration in our first meeting. We also review our work together regularly to ensure your needs are being met.
Both online therapy and in-person therapy have effective outcomes and offer similar benefits.
Online counselling
Online counselling using platforms such as Teams, offers great flexibility regardless of where you live in the UK. You don’t need to be ‘tech-savvy’ to make use of online counselling, and we can discuss the practicalities in an introductory call. For online sessions it is important to be in a confidential space, where you can talk openly and won’t be disturbed.
Initial introductory call
I understand that finding the right counsellor can feel daunting. I offer an initial, free, no-obligation 20-minute phone call, where we can talk about what you hope to gain from therapy and answer any questions you may have.
My first session
We will use our first full session to explore what brings you to counselling, what you hope to accomplish and to establish how we will work together.
It takes a lot of courage to ask for help when you are feeling distressed and it is completely normal to feel emotional, nervous or anxious when you first begin therapy.
Our first session is an opportunity for you to make sure you feel comfortable and trusting of me as your therapist.

About me and my therapy practice
Hi, I’m Cath, an experienced integrative psychotherapist working with adults (18+).
Clients come to me for a wide range of concerns such as coping with life-limiting illness, grief and loss, depression, anxiety, trauma, low self-esteem and relationship issues. I support clients who feel they have lost their sense of identity or purpose; who are struggling to adapt to changes in their relationships and families; and who feel overwhelmed by the uncertainty of life.
Whatever your reason for seeking therapy, exploring your concerns confidentially, with a supportive therapist can help to unravel and make sense of your feelings, challenge unhelpful thinking patterns and ultimately, bring about change and personal growth.
It takes a lot of courage to ask for help when you are feeling distressed. I want you to know that whatever you’ve got going on right now, you do not need to tackle it alone.
My therapeutic approach
Every client brings their own set of unique life experiences, beliefs and ways of looking at the world. As an integrative counsellor I adapt my approach to my clients’ individual needs, drawing on different ways of working. Such as psychodynamic approaches which can help us to recognise how our past experiences and relationships impact our present-day relationships, the choices we make and our ways of coping.
At the core of my therapeutic approach is the importance of building a strong, trusting relationship with my clients. I offer an atmosphere that is warm, accepting and compassionate, where you will be heard, understood and your experiences validated.
Practice description
I work in-person with young adults (18+) through to older adults and the elderly, at The Eaves in Godalming.
I offer both short-term (focussed) therapy or open-ended (long-term) therapy, dependent on individual needs and goals.
