About me and my therapy practice

Are you looking for a safe space where you can slow down, feel supported and get back to feeling like yourself again? I can offer you regular weekly or fortnightly sessions, or a one-off single session with a solution focused outcome.

I am a qualified, experienced counsellor with real lived experience of overcoming life's challenges. I am also a carer alongside my counselling work. I have worked as a counsellor with Mind for over 4 years and am trained in working with people with depression. I am also trained in providing single session therapy. I am deeply passionate about what I do, and I know that finding the right counsellor can feel overwhelming with so many to choose from. I recommend that if counsellors have a free consultation available, use it, and let this be a way to try out having that first chat. It's important you find someone who feels right for you so you can get the support you need and deserve.

I will offer you a safe, confidential space where you can share whatever feels overwhelming, heavy, unfair or unclear. You can talk about your experiences openly, express your feelings in your own way, and be fully accepted as you are. We will work at a pace that feels right for you, and one that offers you the support you need to make the changes you want in your life.

I believe therapy can be a journey of profound personal learning and self-discovery that will raise your confidence and self-esteem. Usually, after the first few sessions, people I work with often tell me that they feel noticeably lighter and feel a sense of relief that is very much welcomed.

Practice description

Single Session Therapy:

A single session can work well with many different issues such as feeling stressed or feeling a bit stuck about a decision you need to make. It can help you build your confidence, raise your self-esteem and help you feel more in control. The session will be bespoken to your needs and the issue you want to address, it will feel proactive in its approach and will be guided towards finding a solution.

I will provide a confidential and supportive space where we will talk through the issue you want to address. Together, we will identify practical strategies that feel realistic and manageable and develop a course of action that you can take away with you. By the end of the session, you will leave feeling empowered, with a clearer sense of the next steps you can take.

A single session is up to 70-minutes long and cost £120 for an online/telephone session or £150 for an in-person session. This price also includes an optional 15-minute follow-up telephone session, scheduled 4–8 weeks later.

Weekly or Fortnightly Sessions:

If you are looking for weekly or fortnightly sessions and are looking for a way to slow down and give yourself some well needed care, I can help you feel supported. I will provide a safe and confidential space where I will help you begin to understand and process the difficulties you’re facing.

Together we will gently explore what feels overwhelming, unfair, heavy, or unclear and give some attention to the things you've been carrying. As we work together, we can begin to recognise the patterns that shape your thoughts, feelings, and relationships, and gently uncover what may be behind them. This can help you feel more connected to yourself, who you are, and why you do things the way you do. Working in this way will lead to increase your self-awareness, identify your true purpose in life, and raise your confidence. We will work at a pace that feels right for you and one that offers you the support and care you deserve.

My first session

If you choose weekly or fortnightly sessions these will take place on the same day and at the same time each week. Sessions can be in-person, online or over the phone and the number of sessions you decide to have will be entirely your choice. Usually, after the first few sessions, people I work with often tell me that they feel noticeably lighter and feel a sense of relief that is very much welcomed. Every few weeks we can take some time to discuss how the sessions are going, what's working well and what we might do differently.

Weekly or fortnightly sessions are 50-minutes long and cost £60 for online and telephone sessions and £75 for in-person sessions.

In our first session, I will ask you if you have any questions about my Privacy Policy or Practice Information sheet that I provide ahead of a first session. Once we’ve checked all the admin side of things, my first question to you will probably be, “how are you feeling now you’re here?”. We will then follow the natural flow of where this question might take you and then we will talk about a focus for the therapy work.

We will have some time at the end of the session to reflect on how the first session felt for you, if any adjustments might be needed, and decide if you would like to book further sessions.
