About me and my therapy practice

My name is Mark. I’m a qualified person-centred counsellor offering a calm, supportive space where you can talk openly and be heard. I understand that reaching out for support isn’t always easy, especially if you’re used to dealing with things on your own or find it difficult to talk about how you feel, perhaps not wanting to ‘rock the boat’.

I offer the Rewind Technique, a gentle, non-intrusive approach that may help reduce the emotional impact of distressing or traumatic memories without requiring detailed recall of the experience. This can be used alongside our ongoing work where appropriate, within a safe and supportive therapeutic environment.

I have experience working with bereavement, anxiety, low self-esteem in men, addiction, and alcoholism. I have a particular interest in supporting men who may be used to coping on their own or find it difficult to open up. You might be feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure how to move forward—together we can begin to make sense of what’s going on for you.

My approach is rooted in person-centred therapy. I believe that you are the expert in your own life. I won’t give advice or tell you what to do, but I will work alongside you to help you explore your thoughts and feelings, gain clarity, and move towards the changes that feel right for you.

I offer sessions online via Microsoft Teams and face-to-face appointments (weekends, based in Wanstead). I also provide walk-and-talk therapy, which can be a helpful option if you find it easier to talk side by side in a more relaxed, outdoor environment.

I offer a free 15-minute initial call, giving us the opportunity to see whether we feel like a good fit and for you to ask any questions before we start.

Thank you for taking the time to read my profile.

Practice description
