About me and my therapy practice

Taking the first step towards counselling can stir up many different feelings, from uncertainty and apprehension to hope and curiosity about what might be possible. Seeking support takes courage, and finding a counsellor you feel comfortable with is an important part of the process. I offer a warm, compassionate and non-judgemental space where you can talk openly about whatever is troubling you and work at a pace that feels right for you.

Practice description

I am an integrative counsellor with a person-centred foundation, drawing on psychodynamic and CBT approaches where appropriate. I believe that every person is unique, and I tailor my work to your individual needs and circumstances.

At the heart of my practice is the belief that feeling safe, heard and accepted can make a real difference. Building a trusting therapeutic relationship is very important to me, and I aim to offer a genuine, approachable and supportive space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings and experiences without fear of judgement.

I have experience supporting children and adults of all ages, from early years through to later life. As part of my counselling training, I worked therapeutically with primary school children, and my wider counselling experience includes working within a sight loss charity, supporting clients facing a range of challenges including anxiety, bereavement, health-related issues, loss, life transitions, self-esteem difficulties, trauma and relationship concerns. I also have particular experience working with individuals affected by sight loss, long-term health conditions and the emotional impact of significant life changes.

Before becoming a counsellor, I worked in HR, with children with additional needs, and in early years settings. These experiences have given me insight into many of the pressures, challenges and transitions people can face throughout their lives, helping me to connect with people from a wide range of backgrounds and experiences.

I work online with young people aged 13+ and adults, offering a confidential and supportive space where you can feel heard, understood and valued. Whether you are facing a specific difficulty or simply feeling stuck, overwhelmed or unsure of your next steps, counselling can provide an opportunity to gain greater understanding of yourself and move towards the changes you would like to make.

If you would like to know more, I welcome you to get in touch for an initial conversation.
