About me and my therapy practice

Hello and a warm welcome

I'm Sarita, an experienced trauma-informed psychotherapist and a relationships specialist, working with both individuals and couples. I am passionate about helping people to help themselves. Starting therapy takes courage, and having someone alongside you can make all the difference.

The relationship between us matters more than any technique. Research confirms that it's the single biggest factor in whether therapy is effective. So, the work we do together is not detached and clinical. I work alongside you, collaboratively, in a space that's honest, non-judgemental, and built around who you are.

What to expect:

• A relational, collaborative approach, not a set script

• Space to understand why you react and feel the way you do

• A safe, non-judgemental space that warmly welcomes all backgrounds, ages, and identities

What I bring

I am a fully accredited member of both BACP and UKCP, with a Masters in Transactional Analysis Psychotherapy. I work across a range of conditions, including (but not limited to) anxiety, depression, grief, relationship difficulties, feelings of loss arising from divorce, loss of a job or becoming an empty-nester. Each life stage has its particular challenges, and the heart of my work is to help my clients navigate through them, and make the most of their lives, whatever their circumstances may be.

Before becoming a psychotherapist, I spent several years in senior marketing roles in banking. So I know first-hand how a demanding career can throw our lives off balance and can negatively impact both our wellbeing and our relationships.

This isn't about fixing what's broken. You're not broken. It's about understanding yourself well enough to change what isn't working.

Practice description

My approach is specifically aimed at understanding how we relate both to ourselves and to others. How we relate to ourselves sets the blueprint for how we feel and react in every aspect of our life, and is arguably the most important relationship we carry. Together, we look at the patterns that may no longer be helpful and find ways to help you to move forward and to optimise your life.

Having lived in several countries, I have a deep appreciation for how culture and identity can shape the way we see ourselves and also the way in which we connect with others. It's something I bring real care and curiosity to, in our work together.

I am a parent myself, and can appreciate the pressures of being one. I welcome working with my clients on issues around parenting and helping them through the challenges they may face in their role as parents.

I enjoy working with couples; this is a particular interest of mine. How we were raised, and what we've lived through, shapes how we show up for a partner, often in ways we don't fully see. Together, we unpack those patterns and beliefs, so you can build something more honest and connected.

My practice

• I work both online and in-person. My in-person sessions are based in Putney, Southwest London.

• I also work with clients who would like some in-person contact but cannot always do so. In such cases, we usually agree to meet in person for a minimum number of sessions, after which we may work in a hybrid way between online and in-person.

• I work both short-term (for helping you through specific issues or circumstances that may have arisen in your life), and longer-term, depending on your individual needs. We don’t need to decide this at the start.

My first session

I offer a free 20-minute online consultation where you can tell me a bit about what brings you to therapy, discuss your needs, and we can get a feel for whether I am the right fit for you.
