About me and my therapy practice

My experience is in working with people who are looking to heal from events that have happened in their life. This may be the death of a loved one, illness (and recovery), the challenges of wanting (or not wanting) to have children, relationship difficulties, or perhaps the experience of trauma or a traumatic event.

I am a therapist to be alongside people like you in suffering, whatever that may be. You may need a helping hand to uncover what is happening right now, and maybe how you can make changes to your life to make things feel more bearable. We will feel our way through together.

We will seek to understand your experience by opening your lived experience. Together, we explore the richness of how you have lived to date and how you would like to live in the future.

I am sensitive to the possible difficulties (and joys) of living alongside cultural difference. I have experienced living and working in different cultures (Asia and Europe) and I am in a marriage with someone from a different culture.

Ultimately I will be guided by you, and your needs in our work together.

My role is to be alongside you in whatever has brought you to therapy, my specialisms (or areas of interest) are:

- Pregnancy, infertility, baby loss, menopause

- Illness, ageing and dying

- Meaning making and a sense of hopelessness

- Trauma and abuse

- Intimacy and Relationships.

I have an MA and Diploma in Counselling & Psychotherapy and an MSc. Psychology.

As a qualified psychotherapist registered by the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP), I hold myself to the highest professional standards, your well-being and confidentiality are my priority.

Practice description

In our sessions together, we create a safe, grounded and non-judgmental space where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences at your own pace. Therapy with me will allow you space to think about how you are coping. This may mean coping with the day-to-day, after the death of a loved one, or, after experiencing trauma.

My approach is relational, this means that I will be alongside you in this journey, gently and safely exploring together. Together we can (re)discover how you make sense of the world, what drives your choices and think about how you want to live alongside the events that have happened in your life.

Unlike approaches that solely aim to solve specific problems, psychotherapy with me is about gaining insight, with the aim of understanding yourself at a deeper level.

I have been both therapist and client. I often find myself at a loss when asked what therapy is, and how it ‘works’. But I know from experience that it does.

It is a process guided by you, where we work together to navigate life's challenges, discover your inner strengths, and cultivate a greater sense of how you would like to live.
