About me and my therapy practice

Are you feeling anxious, overwhelmed, low, stuck or disconnected from yourself? Perhaps you are struggling with difficult relationships, a significant life change, grief, trauma, work or family pressures, or earlier experiences that continue to affect you now.

I offer warm, supportive and non-judgemental counselling for adults. I provide a calm, confidential space where you can talk openly, feel heard and begin to make sense of what is happening for you. You do not need to have the right words or know exactly what you need before getting in touch. We can begin where you are now.

I support adults experiencing anxiety, low mood, stress, burnout, self-esteem issues, relationship and family difficulties, grief and bereavement, trauma, identity questions and life transitions, including perimenopause / menopause.

I welcome neurodivergent clients, whether you suspect you are neurodivergent, self-identify or have a formal diagnosis, including Autistic people and people with ADHD. I work flexibly and affirmingly, adapting counselling where possible to meet your own unique needs.

As an adoptee myself, I have specific experience in supporting adult adoptees and people with experience of kinship care or special guardianship. These experiences can bring complex feelings around identity, belonging, loss, family, reunion, rejection, loyalty and self-worth. I offer a compassionate, thoughtful and attuned space to explore your story safely, and at your own pace and honouring your unique experience.

I see adults face to face in Farnham Common and Sunninghill, convenient for Windsor, Ascot, Sunningdale, Virginia Water, Egham, Slough, Maidenhead, Beaconsfield and surrounding areas. I also offer online and telephone counselling across the UK.

Taking the first step can feel daunting. I offer an initial informal call to answer questions, discuss what has brought you to counselling and decide whether working together feels right for you.

Practice description

I am a qualified Attachment-Based Integrative Counsellor. I draw on a range of therapeutic approaches and tailor counselling to your individual needs, experiences and goals.

An attachment-based approach can help us understand how early relationships and significant life experiences may be shaping how you feel, cope and relate to others today. We do not have to focus only on the past: we will work with what feels most important and manageable for you right now.

I believe counselling works best when you feel safe, heard and respected. I work with empathy, curiosity and gentle challenge where helpful. Our sessions are collaborative, and we will regularly review what feels useful so that we can work at a pace that is right for you.

There is no one-size-fits-all route through counselling. Whether you are looking for support with a current difficulty, the impact of earlier experiences or a period of uncertainty and change, we can make space to understand what matters to you and explore a way forward.

My first session

I offer a free, initial 20 min call by video or telephone so you can share a little about what brings you to seek support and I can share with you more about me, how I work, what sessions would look like and next steps.

If you decide you would like to go ahead, we would arrange a mutually convenient time for a first full 50 min session, either face to face at my counselling room in Farnham Common or Sunninghill, or an online session. This would give us an opportunity to talk in more detail about what you are looking for support with, and talk through and agree how we would work together. If after this session you are happy to continue we can then look to book some subsequent sessions.

Sessions can be booked on a week by week basis and there is no minimum number of sessions you need to book.

About me and my therapy practice

Are you, or a child or teenager you care about, feeling anxious, overwhelmed, low in confidence or struggling to manage big emotions? You may be finding school, work or relationships difficult; worrying a lot; withdrawing from friends or family; feeling under pressure; coping with change; or finding it hard to explain how you feel.

I offer warm, supportive and non-judgemental counselling for adults and young people aged 11+. My aim is to provide a calm, confidential and age-appropriate space where you can feel listened to, understood and accepted.

I work with adults and young people experiencing anxiety, low mood, stress, overwhelm, school or work pressures, friendship, relationship or family difficulties, low self-esteem, grief and loss, changes at home or in life, identity questions, difficult experiences and emotional overwhelm. I also support women navigating changing roles, caring responsibilities, perimenopause, menopause, work or relationship pressures.

I welcome neurodivergent adults and young people, including Autistic people and people with ADHD, whether you are exploring neurodivergence, self-identify or have a formal diagnosis. I aim to work flexibly and affirmingly, adapting sessions around individual needs wherever possible.

Counselling is not about telling you what to do or expecting you to have all the answers. I work at your pace, using a range of approaches that are tailored to you. Sessions may include conversation, creativity, gentle exploration and play-based activities. Together, we can make sense of what is happening, explore your feelings and find ways forward that feel manageable for you.

I recognise that taking the first step can feel daunting, whether you are seeking support for yourself or for a child or teenager in your care. I offer an initial informal conversation so that you can discuss what is happening, ask questions and decide whether counselling may be a suitable next step.

Practice description

I am attachment-based and integrative in my approach. I am interested in the relationships and experiences that may be affecting your wellbeing, while focusing on what matters most to you now. I aim to understand the world through your eyes and adapt sessions to the individual.

I believe that counselling is most helpful when you feel safe, heard and able to be yourself without fear of judgement, criticism or pressure. Building trust is an important part of the process, and I take time to understand what will help each person feel as comfortable as possible in counselling.

I work collaboratively with adults and young people, tailoring sessions to individual needs, experiences and preferences. Some people prefer to talk directly, while others find creative, practical or more gentle ways of exploring their thoughts and feelings more comfortable. We will work in a way that feels manageable and respectful, and can adapt our approach together as counselling progresses.

I see adults face to face in Farnham Common and Sunninghill. Young people aged 11+ are seen face to face in a calm, comfortable counselling room in Sunninghill, convenient for families in Windsor, Ascot, Sunningdale, Virginia Water, Egham, Maidenhead and surrounding areas. I also offer online and telephone counselling for adults across the UK.

My first session

Taking the first step towards counselling can feel daunting, whether you are seeking support for yourself or for a child or young person in your care.

I offer a free, informal 20-minute telephone or video call before booking a first session. For adult clients, this is an opportunity to share a little about what has brought you to counselling, ask questions and find out more about how I work, what sessions may involve and the possible next steps.

For young people, I usually begin with a call with a parent or carer so that you can share relevant background, ask questions and consider whether counselling may be suitable. Depending on the young person’s age, understanding and wishes, they may join the call, speak with me separately, or have a second call after I have spoken with their parent or carer.

If we decide to work together, we will arrange a mutually convenient time for an initial face-to-face session. Adult sessions are usually 50 minutes and take place in Farnham Common or Sunninghill. Sessions with young people aged 11+ take place in my Sunninghill counselling room and are usually 50 minutes, although this can be adapted to meet individual needs.

At the first session, I will explain how counselling works, including practical arrangements, confidentiality and its limits, and how we will work together. For young people, I usually invite the parent or carer to join us at the beginning of the initial session. We will agree appropriate parent/carer involvement, taking account of the young person’s age, needs, wishes and wellbeing. The parent or carer can then leave the room, wait nearby or return to collect the young person at the end of the session.

If you or the young person feels comfortable continuing after the initial session, we can arrange further appointments.
