Availability

I offer therapy appointments between 10:00am and 7:00pm, providing flexibility to accommodate a range of schedules. Sessions are available either face-to-face or online, allowing you to choose the format that feels most comfortable and accessible for you.

My face-to-face practice is based at Rutherford House in Warrington, a welcoming, private and professional setting designed to promote comfort, calm and emotional safety. The building is fully staffed, with lift access for those who require wheelchair accessibility, and secure on-site parking is available, helping to make your visit as straightforward and stress-free as possible.

For those who prefer the flexibility of online therapy, I also offer secure sessions via Zoom. Online therapy can be a valuable option if you have caring responsibilities, mobility difficulties, health conditions, demanding work commitments, or simply feel more at ease engaging in therapy from your own environment. Sessions are delivered through a secure platform, ensuring your privacy and confidentiality are always protected.

I understand that beginning therapy can feel daunting, which is why I place great importance on offering a space where you feel heard, respected and accepted exactly as you are.

Our sessions are thoughtfully structured to provide enough consistency to foster emotional safety, while remaining flexible enough to respond to your individual needs and the unique pace of your therapeutic journey. Whether you are seeking support through anxiety, trauma, relationship difficulties, loss, life transitions, or simply wish to understand yourself more deeply, my role is to walk alongside you with curiosity, compassion and professional care.

I believe therapy should be accessible, inclusive and tailored to the individual. Together, we will create a space where you can explore your experiences openly, develop greater self-awareness, strengthen your resilience, and move towards lasting, meaningful change.

About me and my therapy practice

My way of working is compassionate, collaborative and trauma-informed. I understand that beginning therapy can feel daunting, especially if you have experienced trauma, invalidation, difficult relationships, or a loss of control in the past. From the outset, my priority is to create a space that feels emotionally safe, respectful and attuned to you.

Each person comes to therapy with their own history, needs, hopes and capacity, and our work will be shaped around you. You remain in control of the pace and depth of the work. We move slowly and thoughtfully, checking in regularly about what feels helpful and what may feel too much. You are always free to pause, reflect, or change direction.

Psychodynamic therapy forms the foundation of my work. This allows us to explore how past experiences, early relationships and unconscious patterns may influence how you feel, relate and cope in the present. Alongside this, I work integratively, drawing on other approaches where helpful.

I may use DBT/CBT-informed strategies to support emotional regulation and coping during periods of distress, and Internal Family Systems-informed principles to help you develop a more compassionate relationship with different parts of yourself. This can be especially supportive if you experience inner conflict, shame, self-criticism, or a sense of feeling pulled in different directions.

My practice is grounded in the trauma-informed principles of safety, choice, collaboration and empowerment. I am mindful of how trauma can affect the nervous system, relationships and sense of self, and I work carefully to ensure therapy does not feel overwhelming or re-traumatising.

The therapeutic relationship itself is central to the work. Within a safe and consistent relationship, patterns can be explored, understood and gently reshaped over time. Above all, I aim to work in a way that respects your autonomy, honours your experiences, and supports meaningful, sustainable change at a pace that feels right for you.

Practice description

I offer a compassionate, trauma-informed and highly individualised approach to therapy. I recognise that healing is not linear, and that each person brings their own history, strengths, needs and pace. Therapy is not a one-size-fits-all experience; you remain central to the direction, depth and pace of our work together.

I believe therapy works best when it is collaborative, respectful and grounded in empathy, curiosity and care. My primary approach is psychodynamic therapy, which explores how unconscious processes, early relationships and past experiences can shape present thoughts, feelings, relationships and patterns of behaviour. By gently bringing these patterns into awareness, therapy can support deeper understanding and lasting emotional change.

My practice is firmly rooted in the trauma-informed principles of safety, choice, collaboration and empowerment. I am mindful of the impact trauma can have on the nervous system, sense of self and capacity for trust, and I work carefully to ensure therapy feels supportive rather than overwhelming. We move at a pace that feels right for you, with regular check-ins and space to reflect on the process.

I specialise in supporting individuals experiencing complex trauma, C-PTSD, depression and anxiety, often linked to relationship breakdowns, domestic abuse, coercive control and prolonged interpersonal harm.

I also work with neurodivergent clients regularly.

Alongside my clinical practice, I am a trustee for a domestic abuse charity and sit on a committee for another domestic abuse organisation. In these roles, I collaborate with police, IDVAs, ISVAs, local services and community partners. This wider work deeply informs my therapy practice, helping me support clients affected by domestic abuse and complex trauma with insight, safety, compassion and empowerment.

My first session

Your first therapy session is an opportunity for us to begin getting to know each other in a safe, supportive and non-judgemental space. I understand that starting therapy can feel daunting, so my priority is to help you feel seen, heard and respected from the very beginning.

The first session is not about solving everything at once. It is about gently beginning to understand what has brought you to therapy, what you may be finding difficult, and what you might hope to gain from the work.

During this session, we will explore your reasons for seeking therapy, your current concerns, and any goals or hopes you may have. I may ask about your history, including previous therapy or significant life experiences, but only at a pace that feels comfortable for you. My approach is trauma-informed and client-led, meaning you remain in control of what you share and what we focus on.

We will also talk through how therapy works, including confidentiality, boundaries, session frequency and what you can expect from our work together. I welcome questions and feedback, as therapy works best when it feels collaborative, transparent and empowering.

Together, we may begin to identify your strengths, existing coping strategies, and the areas where you would like support. This can help us gently shape a personalised way of working that feels safe, meaningful and responsive to your needs.

Ultimately, the first session is about beginning to build trust, safety and collaboration. It is a space where you can share openly, reflect on your experiences, and take the first step towards healing, resilience and meaningful change at a pace that feels right for you.
