About me and my therapy practice
Reaching out for counselling can feel like a big step, especially when you have been carrying difficult thoughts or feelings on your own for a long time. You don't have to face life's challenges alone. I offer a warm, compassionate, and non judgemental space where you feel genuinely heard, accepted and understood as we work together towards the changes you want in your life.
I am a qualified, BACP registered, trauma-informed, integrative counsellor. This means I tailor therapy to your individual needs, drawing on a range of therapeutic approaches rather than focusing on one model. I believe you are the expert in your own life and together we can explore whatever is troubling you.
Alongside my counselling practice, I have over 25 years’ experience working in mental health within social care and the NHS. I have supported people experiencing a wide range of emotional and psychological difficulties including trauma, anxiety, depression, low self esteem, relationship difficulties, bereavement, stress and life transitions. I have a particular interest in understanding how trauma and early life experiences can continue to influence our emotions, relationships and sense of self.
I believe the therapeutic relationship is central to the healing process and my role is to work alongside you with empathy, curiosity and respect, helping you to make sense of your experiences, recognise your strengths and to move towards the changes you want in life. I aim to create a calm, thoughtful space where you can feel safe to talk openly. without pressure or judgement and at a pace that feels right for you.
Whether you are facing a specific crisis or feeling stuck, counselling can offer you the opportunity to better understand yourself, develop resilience and create meaningful and lasting change. Whether you are seeking short term support for a specific issue or longer term counselling to explore deeper patterns I can offer a safe, confidential place either in person or online.
