About me and my therapy practice

Welcome, I’m Amy.

I offer in-person counselling sessions in the Solihull area, and online or telephone sessions throughout the UK.

My aim is to offer a space where you feel heard, understood and able to explore whatever you are experiencing, at your own pace.

As an integrative counsellor, I incorporate different counselling approaches into our sessions.

I recognise that everyone’s experiences, needs and circumstances are different, so I work collaboratively with you to find an approach that feels right for you.

I provide space to explore difficulties, make sense of your experiences, challenge old patterns and begin to make changes that feel right for you.

Practice description

I support adults experiencing a range of challenges, including:

  • Burnout and overwhelm
  • Anxiety
  • Depression and low mood
  • Relationship difficulties
  • Bereavement and loss
  • Neurodiversity

Sessions last 50 minutes, and I hold regular reviews to make sure we are focusing on what is most important to you.

I have a particular interest in supporting people who feel they have lost their sense of self.

Sometimes the hardest part of struggling isn’t one particular problem. It’s the feeling that, somewhere along the way, you’ve lost touch with who you are.

Counselling isn’t always about fixing something that’s wrong with you. Sometimes it’s about finding your way back to yourself, or working out who you want to be now.

Maybe you’re dealing with something specific, or you’re finding things difficult without knowing where to begin. Counselling can give you a space to step back, look at what’s happening and start to see things differently.

My first session

Before booking a session, I invite you to a free 20-minute introductory phone call.

This is an opportunity to ask questions, tell me a little about what has brought you to counselling, and get a sense of whether I might be the right counsellor for you.

There's no pressure to decide during the call. It's simply a chance for us to talk.

If you're considering counselling but aren't sure where to start, you're welcome to get in touch.

I look forward to hearing from you

If you contact me through BACP, please be sure to check both your inbox and junk folder for my reply from contact@speakyourmindcounselling.co.uk.
