About me and my therapy practice
Hi, I'm Louise.
I specialise in supporting individuals who feel weighed down by past experiences, whether that's emotional abuse, narcissistic abuse, toxic relationships, trauma, or divorce. Many of my clients come to therapy feeling stuck in patterns of anxiety, low self-esteem, people-pleasing, or codependency. You may find yourself struggling with confidence, setting boundaries, or feeling disconnected from who you truly are.
Together, we'll explore what may still be affecting you from the past, those lingering memories, emotions, beliefs, and patterns that continue to impact your daily life and relationships. Through greater awareness and understanding, we can begin to create meaningful and lasting change.
As an integrative counsellor, I draw on a range of evidence-based approaches and work in a trauma-informed way, tailoring therapy to your individual needs. I also incorporate NLP techniques where appropriate to help clients develop healthier patterns, build confidence, and move forward with greater clarity and self-belief.
Alongside my private practice, I work for the NHS as a bereavement, grief, and trauma counsellor, supporting individuals and families coping with the devastating loss of a loved one, including those bereaved by suicide.
Whether you're struggling with anxiety, low self-worth, trauma, grief, relationship difficulties, or simply need a safe space to talk, I offer a warm, compassionate, and non-judgemental environment where you can feel heard, understood, and supported.
Reaching out for support is not a sign of weakness. It is often the first courageous step towards healing, self-discovery, and lasting personal growth.
I offer a free, confidential consultation and would be happy to answer any questions you may have.
Practice description
Many people come to therapy because they know something needs to change. They may feel stuck in familiar patterns, disconnected from themselves, struggling in their relationships, or simply ready for a different way forward. Therapy offers an opportunity to explore these experiences with curiosity, compassion, and support, helping you gain a deeper understanding of yourself and create meaningful, lasting change.
My first session
I offer a free 20 minute confidential consultation, either by telephone or online, giving us an opportunity to briefly discuss what has brought you to therapy and answer any questions you may have.
Our first session provides an opportunity to explore your situation in more depth, discuss what you would like to gain from therapy, and begin building a strong therapeutic relationship. Together, we will consider your current challenges, any relevant life experiences, and the goals you would like to work towards.
Before our first session, I will ask you to complete a counselling agreement and some initial paperwork.
As our work progresses, we will regularly review your goals and reflect on the changes, insights, and growth that emerge throughout the therapeutic process.
