About me and my therapy practice

Life can feel overwhelming at times, and counselling offers a space to slow down, breathe, and reconnect with yourself. It can help you deepen your self‑awareness, understand your emotional world, and access the inner resources that may feel out of reach when you’re struggling. My role is to offer a confidential, reliable, and compassionate relationship where you can explore your experiences safely and without judgement.

I am a qualified, fully insured Counsellor and a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I believe our emotional wellbeing is just as vital as our physical health, and that healing often begins with genuine human connection. I offer a warm, confidential, and accepting space where you can share your story, explore your concerns, and begin to reconnect with your authentic self.

My work is rooted in compassion, respect, and genuine curiosity. I hold a deep belief that you matter - your needs, your voice, and your experiences. What you bring to the world is uniquely yours, and I’m here to support you as you rediscover your sense of self and move toward emotional growth.

Finding the right counsellor is a personal decision. Some people seek gentle reflection; others prefer practical tools. As a Humanistic Integrative Counsellor, I draw from a range of therapeutic models, but I believe the most important foundation is a safe, trusting relationship. You’ll have my full attention and acceptance, and we’ll work at a pace that feels comfortable for you.

Together, we may explore how you feel, think, and act; the beliefs you hold about yourself and the world; emotional patterns; and the challenges that are shaping your life. My intention is to walk alongside you with sensitivity and care, wherever you find yourself.

Practice description

As an Integrative Humanistic Counsellor, I hold the therapeutic relationship at the heart of our work. My approach is Person‑Centred, meaning you lead the way. You choose what feels important to bring, and I listen with care, respect, and curiosity. This collaborative, non‑directive way of working supports empowerment, insight, and meaningful change.

Alongside this, I draw from other therapeutic models - including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), mindfulness, and optional creative exercises. This allows me to adapt to your needs moment by moment, supporting emotional, behavioural, physiological, and spiritual wellbeing. If meaningful to you, I can also hold space for spirituality, intuition, and existential questions.

My aim is to help you develop new skills, perspectives, and ways of relating to yourself, while honouring the depth and complexity of your inner world.

I work with a range of issues including self‑esteem, confidence, anxiety, stress, low mood, life transitions, relationship difficulties, bereavement, grief, loss, and personal growth.

I also have a special interest in supporting Highly Sensitive People (HSPs) and introverts. Sensitivity can bring both challenges and strengths, and I help clients understand, navigate, and embrace this trait with clarity and compassion.

Alongside counselling, I am a qualified HSP Transpersonal Coach, offering a soulful, spacious environment for sensitive individuals who wish to explore meaning, purpose, intuition, and deeper self‑connection.

My first session

Many people come to counselling carrying emotional wounds - from early experiences, painful relationships, loss, or moments that changed them. You may feel overwhelmed, stuck, invisible, or disconnected from your sense of self. You may find it difficult to ask for help or feel unsure whether your needs deserve attention.

It’s natural to protect ourselves from pain, and many of us develop coping strategies that once helped us survive but now leave us feeling anxious, stressed, or lost. Unprocessed grief, shame, guilt, or fear can be difficult to express alone.

Your first session is a gentle space to begin exploring what you’re carrying, at your own pace. There is no pressure to share more than feels comfortable.

My Therapy Room

I work from Sapphire Practice Rooms and Inner World Counselling in Exeter City Centre.

Online sessions via Teams are also available.

If you feel ready to take the next step - to explore your thoughts and feelings, understand yourself more deeply, and work toward your goals - I’m here to support you. I offer a free, no‑obligation initial consultation online or by phone, giving you the chance to ask questions and get a sense of whether we might work well together.
