Availability

I currently have availability for new clients and offer a flexible range of appointments during the evenings and weekends.

I provide counselling online, by telephone, via email and face-to-face where appropriate, allowing us to find an approach that fits around your lifestyle, work and personal commitments.

I understand that reaching out for support can feel like a significant step, so I aim to respond to all enquiries promptly and offer a welcoming, professional service from our first contact onwards.

If my availability changes due to annual leave or professional commitments, this will be updated here and discussed with existing clients in advance.

About me and my therapy practice

Choosing a counsellor can feel daunting, particularly if this is your first experience of therapy. My aim is to provide a warm, supportive and non-judgemental space where you can talk openly about whatever is troubling you and feel genuinely heard.
I am a qualified counsellor with over 10 years of professional experience supporting children, young people and adults across a range of settings.

Throughout my career I have worked within NHS mental health services, charitable organisations and community-based services, helping people navigate challenges such as anxiety, low mood, stress, bereavement, relationship difficulties, confidence issues, life transitions and emotional wellbeing concerns.

My training includes Person-Centred Counselling, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Systemic approaches. Rather than applying a rigid model, I believe every person is unique. I tailor my approach to suit your individual needs, personality, goals and circumstances, creating a therapeutic experience that feels personal, meaningful and relevant to you.
At the heart of my work is the belief that people already possess many of the strengths and resources they need. Therapy can provide the space, support and perspective needed to reconnect with those strengths, overcome obstacles and move towards meaningful change.

Whether you are facing a specific difficulty, feeling stuck, struggling to cope, or simply wanting a better understanding of yourself, I will work alongside you at your pace. Together we can explore what is happening in your life, identify patterns that may no longer be serving you, and develop practical ways of moving forward.

I offer counselling online, by telephone, via email and face-to-face, providing flexibility and accessibility to suit different preferences and circumstances.

If you feel ready to make positive changes, gain greater self-awareness or improve your emotional wellbeing, I would be pleased to support you on that journey.

Practice description

I offer a collaborative and compassionate counselling service centred around your individual needs and goals.

No two people are the same and therefore no two therapeutic journeys should be the same. I take time to understand your experiences, strengths, challenges and hopes for the future, ensuring that our work together is tailored specifically to you.
My approach integrates Person-Centred, CBT and Systemic principles. This means we can explore your thoughts, feelings and experiences in a safe and supportive environment while also considering practical strategies, behavioural patterns, relationships and wider life influences where appropriate.

Clients often tell me they value my warm, down-to-earth and approachable style. I believe that a strong therapeutic relationship is one of the most important factors in successful counselling. My priority is to create an environment where you feel respected, accepted and able to speak openly without fear of judgement.
I work with children, young people and adults and have experience supporting people with a wide range of emotional and psychological difficulties, including anxiety, stress, depression, self-esteem issues, relationship concerns, grief and loss, work-related pressures, life transitions and personal development.

Therapy is not about being told what to do. Instead, it is a process of understanding yourself more fully, identifying what may be holding you back and developing the confidence, insight and tools needed to make lasting changes. Meaningful change becomes possible when we are ready to engage with it, and my role is to support, encourage and challenge you constructively throughout that process.

Whether you are seeking support during a difficult period or looking to create lasting positive change in your life, I aim to provide a safe, professional and empowering therapeutic experience.

My first session

I understand that meeting a counsellor for the first time can feel nerve-racking, so the initial session is designed to be welcoming, relaxed and focused on helping you decide whether I am the right counsellor for you.

During our first session we will discuss what has brought you to counselling, what you would like to achieve and any relevant background information that may help me understand your situation. There is no pressure to share everything immediately and we will work at a pace that feels comfortable for you.

I will also explain how I work, answer any questions you may have and discuss practical matters such as confidentiality, session arrangements and expectations of counselling.

The first session is as much an opportunity for you to get to know me as it is for me to understand your needs. Research consistently shows that the quality of the therapeutic relationship is one of the strongest predictors of positive outcomes in counselling, so it is important that you feel comfortable and supported.

Together we will begin exploring what change might look like for you and how therapy can help you move towards the life you want. If we decide to continue working together, we will develop a personalised approach that reflects your goals, strengths and circumstances.
