About me and my therapy practice

You may be considering therapy because something in your life feels difficult to manage at the moment. Perhaps you are feeling anxious, low, overwhelmed, stuck in familiar patterns, or struggling in relationships without fully understanding why.

Therapy offers a regular space to think about these experiences and make sense of them with someone who is trained to listen carefully and without judgement.

I am a psychodynamic therapist, an NHS psychotherapist, and a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy. Alongside my clinical work, I am completing advanced doctoral training in psychoanalytical psychotherapy at the University of Exeter.

My approach is grounded in the belief that our past experiences, relationships, and ways of coping can continue to influence how we feel and relate to others today. Together, we can begin to understand these patterns and consider whether something different may be possible.

Practice description

People seek therapy for many different reasons. You may be experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, bereavement, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem, or a general sense of feeling stuck. Sometimes there is a clear reason for seeking help, and sometimes there is simply a feeling that life is not quite as it should be.

I offer a confidential and reflective space where difficult thoughts and feelings can be explored at your own pace. Rather than focusing solely on managing symptoms, therapy can help you develop a deeper understanding of yourself, your relationships, and the experiences that have shaped you.

I also have particular experience and interest in working with people in high-pressure, frontline, or caring professions, including policing, emergency services, and healthcare. These roles can involve repeated exposure to stress, responsibility, trauma, and emotional demands that may be difficult to process alone.

The initial consultation gives us an opportunity to think together about what has brought you to therapy, what you may need, and whether working together feels right.

Many thanks again for your guidance.

My first session

In therapy, I work in a reflective and depth-oriented way. I do not offer quick fixes or simple advice, but I will listen carefully and work with you to understand what may be happening beneath the surface.

The work may involve thinking about present difficulties, past experiences, relationships, trauma, loss, anxiety, depression, identity, self-esteem, or feelings that have become difficult to manage alone.

I also have particular experience and interest in working with people in high-pressure, frontline, or caring professions, including policing, emergency services, and healthcare.
