About me and my therapy practice

I offer a therapeutic relationship informed by contemporary understandings of trauma and the body, in service of deeper self-understanding and liberation.

Many of the people I work with are highly capable, thoughtful people who have become used to carrying a great deal. Others experience them as coping well, while privately they feel anxious, burnt out, disconnected from themselves, or uncertain how they arrived at a life that no longer feels like their own.

I have particular experience in complex trauma, bereavement and sexual abuse, and work with people living with the long-term impact of difficult relationships and environments. This includes people shaped by boarding or independent day school, emotionally misattuned or neglectful parenting, abusive relationships, and other relational experiences that have left them carrying shame, panic, dissociation, grief, or a persistent sense of not quite feeling safe in themselves.

People often come to therapy because something that once helped them survive no longer helps them live. I don’t see myself as the expert on another person’s life. My role is to offer a therapeutic relationship in which you can understand yourself more fully, with curiosity rather than judgement, and decide how you wish to be in the world.

Practice description

My work is rooted in the person-centred tradition and informed by ongoing training in Somatic Experiencing® and NARM, alongside my experience as a qualified yoga instructor. Where it feels helpful, I may draw on movement, breath, bodily sensation or creative approaches as part of our work together.

I work affirmatively with LGBTQIA+ clients and welcome couples of all configurations, including LGBTQIA+ and neurodiverse couples.

Before becoming a psychotherapist, I spent ten years as an elite athlete. I have a particular interest in working with athletes and former athletes whose relationship with sport, performance, injury, food, their body or identity has become painful or complicated. I’m especially interested in offering something beyond performance-focused support: a space to explore the human experience of being the person behind the performance.

Practice description

I provide both long and short-term therapy to adults and couples.

My work is rooted in the person-centred tradition. This means that I do not bring an agenda to client work, instead, my focus is on the provision of genuine non-judgement, empathy and personal authenticity. I have also undergone training in Person-Centred Expressive Arts and enjoy offering clients non-verbal means of expression. I am informed by ongoing training in Somatic Experiencing® and NARM, alongside my experience as a qualified yoga instructor. About me and my therapy practice

I offer a therapeutic relationship informed by contemporary understandings of trauma and the body, in service of deeper self-understanding and liberation.

Many people come to therapy feeling emotionally exhausted, overwhelmed, disconnected from themselves, or unsure how to keep carrying what they have been holding alone.

I offer warm, thoughtful, relational therapy for adults, young people and couples seeking a space to explore distress, trauma, loss, anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, or things that may feel frightening or difficult to put into words.

My approach is gentle, steady and collaborative. I aim to create a relationship in which you feel supported enough to explore what may previously have felt impossible to face.
