About me and my therapy practice
When something doesn’t feel right, you don’t have to face it alone.
Sometimes, you know something isn’t sitting right. Other times, you just know things don’t feel the way they should, without quite knowing why. You might find it difficult to put into words, or even know where to begin.
Therapy offers a space to slow down, make sense of what’s going on, and begin to understand yourself a little better.
You don’t need to have the right words, and there’s no pressure to open up before you’re ready. We’ll take things at your pace, starting wherever you are and with whatever feels important to you.
I offer a space where you can be yourself, without fear of judgement or pressure to be anything other than who you are. We can sit with difficult feelings, explore what’s been weighing on you, and allow things to come into view in their own time.
My approach is person-centred, integrative and relational. This means I won’t try to fix you or tell you what to do. Instead, I’ll listen, seek to understand your experience, and work alongside you as you explore what feels right for you.
You don’t have to have everything figured out before you begin. Whether you’re looking for support through a difficult time or a space to explore things more deeply, you’re welcome here.
You don’t have to have it all figured out. We can start where you are.
Practice description
What working together can look like.
I work in a person-centred, integrative way, drawing on experience across different settings and working with people from all walks of life.
You might come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure of what’s going on. You might be experiencing anxiety, stress, depression, loss or addiction, or want to explore things more deeply, including questions around ADHD, autism or how you experience the world.
Whatever brings you here, I won’t assume I know what you need. You’re the expert in your own experience, and our work begins with understanding what life feels like for you.
Sessions offer space to explore what’s happening beneath the surface, make sense of difficult feelings, recognise patterns, and consider what might help. There’s no set formula for how this unfolds. Sometimes, that means sitting with something difficult; at other times, it means discovering a new perspective or beginning to see things differently.
We can work in the way that feels most comfortable for you, whether that’s online, face-to-face, walking outdoors, or through written support if expressing yourself in writing feels easier.
Therapy isn’t about changing who you are to fit someone else’s expectations. It’s about developing a deeper understanding of yourself, your experiences and what matters to you, so that any changes you choose to make feel meaningful and your own.
You don’t need to know exactly what you’re looking for before getting in touch. We can begin with a conversation and take it from there.
My first session
If you decide to get in touch, here’s what that first step can look like.
Starting therapy can feel like a big step, especially if you’ve never done it before. Your first session is simply a chance to arrive, get comfortable and begin to explore what’s brought you here.
There’s no pressure to have everything figured out or to find the right words. You can share as much or as little as feels right, and we’ll begin with whatever feels most important to you.
Sessions last 50 minutes. We’ll spend that time getting to know each other, exploring what’s been going on for you and what you’d like from therapy. There’s no right or wrong way to approach it. It’s about beginning to find a way of working together that feels comfortable for you.
If you’d like to find out a little more about working with me, I offer a free 15-minute introductory call. It’s an opportunity to ask questions, talk briefly about what brings you to counselling, and get a feel for whether working together feels right for you.
There’s no pressure to decide anything straight away. We can start with a conversation and take it from there.
