About me and my therapy practice
Most of the people I work with are capable, driven, and good at holding things together. On the outside, life looks fine.
On the inside it's a different story. The mind won't switch off. Anxiety creeps into everything. There's a constant low-level hum of pressure, overthinking, or exhaustion that never quite goes away.
Sometimes there's a name for it: anxiety, panic, burnout, low mood. Sometimes it's just a nagging sense that something isn't right, that you've drifted away from yourself, or that the same patterns keep showing up no matter what you try. Either way, it's exhausting.
I'm Geri, an integrative counsellor & Therapeutic Coach working with adults one-to-one, face to face in Cheadle, Staffordshire and online across the UK.
I work specifically with people experiencing anxiety, panic, overthinking, emotional overwhelm, low self-esteem, and depression. Low self-esteem is something I work with a lot, and it tends to show up quietly in everything, how you feel at work, how you show up in relationships, and whether you ever feel quite enough.
My passion is helping people become more self-led, to understand themselves deeply enough that they can trust their own instincts, make decisions from a calmer place, and live in a way that actually feels like them.
If any of this sounds familiar, I'd love to hear from you.
Practice description
My approach is warm, down to earth, and non-judgemental. I work collaboratively, creating a calm and reflective space where you can speak openly and feel genuinely heard. Everything we do is built around you — your pace, your needs, your goals.
As an integrative counsellor, my work draws on person-centred counselling, CBT, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and parts-based work including Internal Family Systems (IFS). This means sessions are tailored entirely to you, supporting greater self-understanding, emotional regulation, and confidence.
Where helpful I can bring in practical tools, resources, and exercises to support your progress between sessions. As we move through our work together, and particularly as therapy draws toward a close, I can shift into a more coaching-oriented approach, drawing on Positive Psychology to help you consolidate what you've learned, build on your strengths, and move forward with clarity and confidence.
I also offer Single Session Focused Therapy (SSFT), a one-off 90-minute session ideal for those who need clarity or support without committing to ongoing therapy.
Some people come for short-term focused work and leave with real clarity and tools they can use. Others choose longer-term therapy to explore deeper patterns and create lasting change. There's no pressure either way, we work at your pace and review things together regularly.
My first session
Before we begin I offer a free introductory call, a chance to ask questions, talk things through, and get a feel for whether working together feels right. There's no obligation and no pressure at this stage.
Your first session is where therapy begins. We'll carry out an initial assessment to build a picture of what's been going on for you and what you'd like support with. We'll explore what feels most important to focus on and talk about how counselling might look, including whether short-term or longer-term support feels right for you.
Anxiety can make it hard to even know where to start, so you don't need to prepare anything or have clear goals. My aim is simply to create a calm, supportive space where you can speak openly and begin to feel heard. We go at your pace, always.
I offer a free initial consultation get in touch today and let's take that first step together.
